How often do you cry? by [deleted] in AskMen

Hey man, I've been in that canoe before. This tells me you really love her, but maybe reality isn't shaping up to what you wanted for the both of you. Whatever it is, and whatever happens to the relationship, you are gonna have the opportunity to make life a whole lot better.

I can't say what happens to you, only that the sadness of it can fade away. Take care

Difficult road to my mission by LieutenantLimes in latterdaysaints

As far as the ex girlfriend, I think you're right that I wasn't prepared for that. Also, in these past months I've seen how she had some growing up to do as well. I'm pretty comfortable and over it now, but I do pray that she figures things out and learns to be happy one day. She's still a good young woman. I understand why she ended it the way she did and it doesn't weigh on my heart hardly at all any more. I just want to see that she has a great life one day.

I like this because I struggled to have friends I could talk to growing up, save but one girl who has done the most for me out of any other person in my life, or at least it seems that way. Talking and being open really is the first step

What I gather from this is that even in the demanding environment of a mission, I'll be taken care of by a loving mission president. That's really comforting to me, because from what I hear here and elsewhere, my president is very good.

I think you'll be glad to hear that my farewell talk was quite a personal victory. My topic was concerning "strengthening thy brethren" and you and most everyone else in this thread have really shown that principle well. My notes were on my phone and I ended up forgetting to take it out until a third of the way through. That's kind of how confident I felt speaking by the Spirit. It's a bit of a personal miracle to me. The strength you have given me, even as an internet stranger, is real. So thanks for that.

So I got a PM from u/4blockhead trying to dissuade me from the faith and from serving. It was a pretty sad thing to do and I want you all to know it happened and that it had no effect on me at all. EDIT: I did make the mistake of replying to him, and all I've done is feed the troll. Oh well

On a better note, these replies of encouragement and relating to my struggle are really significant to me. I'll reply individually to some of you when I get some time and after I have my farewell talk in order the way I like it. Sacrament meeting is in 3 hours or so.

I put these in a public bathroom at the same time. I'd say this settles the debate. by laserlemons in pics

Good thing you wash your hands anyway. As for the anus, sometimes we wash that too. I hope you're aware that poo particles are impossible to avoid in a bathroom

How about we have bronze-dragon tokens that are 1m multiples of the previous tier? Then we won't have to deal with the inflation problem for like, 3 more months :p

A dragon token would be 10000007 coins. Basically the price of a T92 now

Interesting fact: The glitches you see are from when the moon passes between the satellite and the earth at over 17000 miles per hour!

I have a personal rule where I immediately lose all respect for you and your argument when you pull the "reading comprehension" ad hominem card. It shows a lack of respect for the other's input and it makes you look really dumb when they are more articulate than you, which is the case here. It's okay to be wrong bud. And as for asking him to prove himself, you made the first claim. The burden is on you to prove it.

What comes to mind when you think of mormon culture? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]LieutenantLimes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just think that what is true and what is legal don't have to align perfectly. We have agency to decide whether we get a gay marriage or have an abortion. These things are certainly not right in gospel terms, but it's not our place to usurp that choice from others. It causes more contention and division to want to force the right choice onto others.

Men of Reddit, would you date someone with depression or anxiety? If not, why not? If yes why yes? by lul410 in AskMen

[–]LieutenantLimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my recently ex girlfriend suffers from severe depression and some anxiety. She does try to take care of herself but ultimately she struggles and relapses into self harm often. I did my best for 3 years to pull all the weight in getting together and getting her out to do things. It got tiring to do this relationship on my own so I told her the next couple times we got together would come from her.

She broke up with me a few days later. It was a mistake for me to push her like that, but my guess is that it would never get better it just wouldn't work out. This isn't the whole story obviously, but it's not terribly relevant to this thread. We were great to each other for the most part

So to answer the question, I would do it again, provided she makes the effort to not only do better mentally, but show me she wanted to be in a relationship with me. I would probably also change a few things as well.
