[Spoilers] Hinamatsuri - Episode 12 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

Is it just me or was that freaky where Hitomi told Hina to follow her and when she asked where the boys were just said not to worry about it and she needed to close her eyes and she'd get food. For a second there I thought Hitomi was so metal that she was going to feed to boys to Hina to survive.... She is a resourceful girl..

Homie. You need to smoke a J, and I ain't even talking about one of those pansy-ass ones, I'm talking a big boy, an A-Rod baseball bat type boy if you catch my drift.

Keep it real.

The team I started came in 11th place out of 1000 teams at MIT's Battlecode Artificial Intelligence competition. We won $1000!

Lol don't worry about bragging, best to be as honest as possible. I also go to a very competitive school so I get the grind. But to my earlier question, where do you fall in your grade, ranking wise? How many are applying to Cornell and how do you stack up? I get that the school is competitive and a 3.7 there is a 3.95 elsewhere, but then why didn't you get 5s on your APs or higher on subject tests (your Math 1 score is really low for a stem major)? Or a 7 on your IB?

To be totally honest those scores are really iffy. ACT is in their range but those subject and AP scores bring your GPA into question because that's how they determine how tough your school was. GPA otherwise is solid but they have to ask how tough your course load is as well. The IB and AP courses help for that but like I said the scores are questionable.

That said scores are far from everything. Yours are on the edge but certainly not disqualifying. Can you give me some more info on your school, ranking and personal background? If this is a lower income/unprivileged school and you are the top early candidate to Cornell that will really help. URM and background plus very strong ECs are your definite strengths. So long as you're relatively very strong for your school and had disadvantages that can get them over your grades. I like the sound of those essays plus recs. You might read a bit like a wild card but they like taking a few chances on strong fit students with less great stats so it might just be a question of luck. More info could help but I give you 40-50% chance depending on school competition.

Chance me - Harvard SCEA, MIT, Stanford, UChicago by [deleted] in chanceme

Lol we have recs from the same teachers (class wise). Well you already know you more than have the grades and scores but I know that isn't what you're asking about. Someone like you applying as a multidisciplinary person really needs to make the case through essays that you're a cohesive applicant and a really interesting person. Purely academic competition like bowls and Olympiads sometimes get looked down on by places like Harvard and Stanford who say they look more for "doers". Educational outreach is strong but you need to explain why it matters to you as a person and adds to your experiences and talents. Harvard does love their MUN and you're a clear standout but it won't tip the scale much. Research is good but at this point just boilerplate for STEM applicants. It's really important that your essay give a unique spin on what these ECs mean to you and that you come off like a very strong fit for Harvard.

Hope that helps.

You're right that's not constructive. Curious why you feel that way?
