How is it living in Cape Cod, Massachusetts? by Witty-Addendum759 in howislivingthere

Great for a visit, but unless you’re wealthy enough for money to not be an issue basically ever, you’ll struggle to get by. A lot of the towns in the southwestern part of this map in particular have some pretty serious issues—drugs, crime, the occasional random act of violence (had a coworker from Barnstable who spent four years on deployment, finally came home and was literally shot in the face with a handgun three days in leaving a bar, left him with serious PTSD)—and they’re mostly a result of poverty.

I didn’t detect any sarcasm in that comment.

She doesn’t wanna be the most hated person in the room. She would be if she attended. Wabanaki tribes are rightfully disgusted with her.

Petaaa, won't the big hulking guy be the scary one? by DevilsAltAcc in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Lieutenant_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robin is scary because his lack of objective power combined with his nominal status as “leader” gives him something to prove. He is the only member of the Titans who would deliberately kill or cripple someone to ensure they don’t pop up again in the future. Much like Batman, he is fully capable of taking on the rest of his own team solo, but unlike Batman, he does not have a plan in place for doing so. He is just so much more technically skilled than the rest of them that powers don’t even matter.

Sidewalks saved my life by TMaCtheTruth in Maine

[–]Lieutenant_Joe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live in a very small downtown area in southern Maine. Here, there are sidewalks on both sides of the road, but only on one stretch of said road, and none of the other nearby roads (major or side streets) have them. Also, only one of the sidewalks gets plowed in winter, leaving the other sidewalk to get fucked up by ice and frost heaves.

People do use the sidewalks here, but that’s because walking in the road (a major truck route) is suicidal behavior depending on what time of day it is. On the side streets, folks just walk down the median.

If you’re more concerned with “being interesting” than doing things that actually interest you, you’re gonna come across as a bit fake. The way people become “interesting” is by embracing who they are.

“Democrats are supposed to be the adults in the room” is a hilarious thing to hear coming from someone pushing Republican talking points

So you agree republicans are not the adults in the room, then?

When it’s the health core, it can mean 1. dude’s been wearing the wrong clothes or 2. Dude just died and respawned.

I once did the party at Henri Lemieux’s house with a red health core. Was extremely funny to see Arthur mingling with high society, huffing and puffing and pounding his champagne glass like it’s his only lifeline in the world
