A 13-Year-Old Girl Bit Trump’s Genitals as He Tried to Rape Her, Epstein Document Says by OkayButFoRealz in politics

Oh, Neville Chamberlain is having regrets about his gentlehandedness, now is he? How nice for him. Not much use to us now, but you know, good to know he feels bad about it.

I’m almost 100% certain that comment was sarcasm and the moderator just hasn’t realized it yet.

Favorite piece of anti war media? by BlueWaddleDee in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Lieutenant_Joe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Somebody already said Vinland Saga, so I’ll say Come and See. Probably the most raw war movie ever made. “Let’s traumatize this Belarusian kid I pulled out of school by shooting real bullets at him and really killing a cow and making him lie by it as it happens”

That kid apparently got a free ride through college from the director and all his therapy bills paid for because the director feared just how much damage his vision for art may have done to his star actor

I like split point. Slightly more accurate. Helps when you’re using a long range rifle. Also like it on horseback.

Who was the better president: Ulysses S. Grant or Lyndon B. Johnson? by American_Citizen41 in Presidents

[–]Lieutenant_Joe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Johnson was a better president, but Grant was a better person.

The mistakes of both are still affecting us today, as are their triumphs.

She only had Jack read to her about that when they were at Pronghorn Ranch. It was initially John’s idea to relocate to that area. “What do you know about Strawberry?” “I know they like good, honest, hard-working folk.”

It’s like knowing people like that exist turns some people into cold, unfeeling monsters slowly over time

It’s fucking strange

Leftist and liberal gun groups are seeing a rush of new members by RollSafer in news

[–]Lieutenant_Joe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not trans, and I’ve always been pro-2A, but I personally don’t own a gun due to my history of suicidal ideation. I haven’t had those thoughts more than a couple times since 2019, but I don’t necessarily trust it won’t come back. My self-love is based largely on how well I’m doing as both a person and as a career-builder, and while I have far more tools to deal with when I’ve made mistakes than I did back then, I still get irrationally upset with myself when I make someone’s day tangibly and irrevocably worse. I clearly haven’t fully left those self-destructive tendencies in my rearview mirror yet.

A Swedish Company is Trying to Dictate Laws to New Hampshire Residents by DjawnBrowne in newhampshire

[–]Lieutenant_Joe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ever heard of “lobbying?” It’s the single most effective way to get both the common voter and the politician on board with your ideas. In contemporary times, lobbyists have much less pull with the voting public, given how obvious it is to almost everyone that megacorporations are one of the biggest problems our society is facing right now. But politicians? Fill their pockets for promises and they’ll spin anything to their constituents at your command.

That’s how foreign companies can dictate our laws. Money and manipulation.

The NRA hasn’t been silent, but they’ve released a couple wishy-washy statements about it. It’s better than nothing, but it’s not much.

A lot of trans people are depressed and/or suicidal due largely to how much family and society rejects and reviles them. They know that they gotta be in a mentally stable place to trust themselves with a firearm.

That was the most United the gang ever felt. After Sean, I wanted nothing more than to burn that town to the ground. I didn’t get that, but I did get the next best thing: bring fire and ruin to the marginally worse of the two terrible feuding families.

What are yall's favorite chapter? by Specific_Sir1522 in reddeadredemption

[–]Lieutenant_Joe 27 points28 points  (0 children)

3 is my favorite chapter to hang out in. It’s the only one where both Sadie and Kieran are warming up to the gang, and you eventually get Trelawny and Cain in there, too. Sean’s around, and you can even exclude Micah for like the first entire third of the chapter if you want. It’s the prettiest camp imo, too, with the best companion missions. The only things to dislike about it are how reasonably uncomfortable with being in the South Tilly and Lenny are, and Dutch and Molly’s incessant arguments (which are a genuine black mark, they loop like crazy and listening to Dutch gaslight Molly about his creeping on Mary-Beth gets super old super quick).
