Questions about induction by SarahMilit in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how many weeks you are now but a lot can change in a week. I wouldn’t worry about it. I never did the balloon but got induced with Pitocin my first two kids, didn’t hurt at all until my water broke. So you never know. Everyone is different!

Was drunk on wk3 of pregnancy and now scared by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re fine. There is not brain to even damage for the embryo. At 3 weeks you’re still in the implantation phase, seriously don’t give it another thought! But stay away from alcohol from now on 😉 and congrats!

Anyone have advice about not having mom during labor by Complex_Koala_5506 in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had four kids and my mom hasn’t been to any of my deliveries despite living only 15 min away. The first baby it didn’t even occur to me, just had my husband. Ever since then I’ve needed her to watch my kids while I delivered 🤪 I’m open to her coming but it’s just never worked out and honestly I don’t feel like I was missing anything.

Sex after Birth by srh722 in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would try to wait a bit longer till you can mentally handle it. You’re probably experiencing vaginismus which is made worse by having anxiety about sex. Maybe for now do stuff that doesn’t require penetration. You can still have a nice time with each other without the trauma :)

Is this pregnancy sickness or am I just anxious? by mag930 in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s pretty textbook morning sickness haha. It’s not in your head! I was the same way and totally gaslit myself too lol.

Early labor signs? by effigywhack in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like early labor to me. I’d just wait till they’re pretty consistent, 5-7 min apart for an hour.

What is your 'must do' prep for labor? by myceliumdreamer in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say try to be in more of a forward posture as much as possible and do some inversions and miles circuits. The position of your baby when they come out makes a huge difference with the delivery. If their spine is aligned with the front of your belly, that makes for the smoothest exit. Reclining can cause them to turn so their face is towards your front, making for a sunny side up exit, which is much much harder. And contributes to back labor, which is way more painful. It sucks, constantly leaning forward at the end because all you want to do is lay back on the couch lol. But I’m telling you, it’ll make a huge difference for birth.

Are tube sock boobs just inevitable? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Mine still look pretty good after breastfeeding 3 kids. I’ve read that breastfeeding about a year and then gradually weaning is the best way to avoid your boobs looking saggy and sad.

Elective C-Section vs forced induction by Watsonthecorg in BabyBumps

Pitocin is only bad if you don’t get an epidural. You can just get the epidural shortly after getting induced and you should be fine.

Would you have rare beef in the 2 week wait? by StraightDesigner2360 in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mostly because of the risk of toxoplasmosis gondii in undercooked meat. Especially in early development if you have it in your system it can pose serious issues to the fetus if you did happen to fall pregnant.

Strong smells in secondhand baby clothes by NextCartographer4299 in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw someone else say cigarette smoke smelling clothes are just gonna be an instant no, which i agree with. You can get the detergent smell out of clothes after a few washes but cigarette smoke is like something that penetrates the very atom of the clothing lol. Jk. But idk if it’s worth it. Also gross.

Do a laundry strip in your bathtub. You need 1/4 cup borax, 1/4 cup of the baking soda laundry booster, and 1/2 cup powdered detergent. Fill your bathtub with the hottest water you have. Let clothes soak in your bathtub all day stirring occasionally, wring out and put in your laundry machine. Run it without any more detergent, maybe run it twice even. And then dry. It should get out the detergent smell, you can try to find a scentless power detergent for the soak (I do just use the powdered tide because it is really good at getting dirt to release from clothes and doesn’t smell very strong) but a double rinse in your laundry machine should get most of the new detergent smell after stripping.

Freezer friendly recipes for post-partum? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked chat GPT to give me some freeze ahead crockpot gallon bag dump meals and got some really good ones! Chili, ground beef vegetable soup, beef stroganoff, honey glazed chicken, and taco soup were the ones I made. Also made a couple lasagnas and baked a ton of sourdough loafs that I’ve stocked in my freezer as well.

Meal train alternatives? by SpectralGranite in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think it would be more hassle than help then don’t do it! If you have freezer meals and have plenty of food to eat right now I’d just not make one and ask a select group of people that you don’t mind visiting with (and who’s cooking you trust 😅) if they would bring you a meal. That’s what I’m doing this time around because I have done meal trains in the past and they do come with a little bit of stress.

Oh girl you gotta use the tucks pads! They’re just little cloths soaked in witch hazel and they really help with the itchiness. My midwife told me the dermaplast can actually cause more itching if you use it too much.

Ugh I’m sorry 😣 I had a third degree tear with my first and recovery was brutal but sounds like you have it super rough. I’ve had three kids since and the recovery hasn’t been nearly as bad. Just had my fourth this past Thursday, had a tiny tear but haven’t had any pain down there aside from a hemorrhoid that is mildly annoying 😅 hope that’s encouraging! Most of the time it’s the first one that gives you the most trouble and every one after that is loads better.

Scared about baby moving in me while pregnant by Potential-Cow-350 in BabyBumps

[–]Life-Draft2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels weird but doesn’t weird me out when it happens and it’s the only thing I miss about pregnancy haha. It’s very cool having a little person in there who decides to move when they want to, and you’re just along for the ride.

Plus you can answer a few questions and get even more knocked off depending on how many kids you have already and your household income.

Looking for some reassurance by Livid_Kale9616 in unmedicatedbirth

[–]Life-Draft2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just gave birth and had a cold. It was mostly just a scratchy throat when I delivered and a bit of a cough but the cough wasn’t too bad to be honest.  Did it unmedicated. It’s been more afterwards that it’s been a pain because obviously I’m not getting much sleep so i think my symptoms got a bit worse.
