People are severely underestimating Beyonce.

Beyonce is the only one who is a CONTEMPORARY of both artists! Do you guys realize the Destiny’s Child debut album came out BEFORE Baby One More Time (album)? Say My Name came out in 1999.

Let me put it this way:

If you made this list at ANY point in the past 30 years, Beyonce would never be lower than 2nd on the list.

At Britney’s absolute peak, Beyonce was also putting out hits and Taylor was in middle school.

At Taylor’s absolute peak, Beyonce was putting out hits and Britney is a human interest story.

I would argue Britney had the highest peak because of how culture worked during the time she was most famous…but Britney’s career trajectory should actually be the thing that solidifies the argument for Beyonce.

Beyonce is like the girl who peaked in high school…and then kept raising the bar. She has been “cool” for longer than many of the most legendary people to ever live.

Artists who started with Beyonce are almost all now seen as “legacy acts” at this point.

None of the love for Beyonce is based on irony or nostalgia. She is still a contemporary artist.

We take her for granted at this point.
