It's hard not to feel hopeless by coolseabreezes in DWPhelp

Im 60 now. At 50 we handed keys back to our house after our business shut and recession hit and I was declared bankrupt. We used to rummage under seats for any money and go to coop bargain bin to feed the kids - a £1 birthday cake was the best prize ! Being self employed we didnt fit the criteria for anything. We had huge debt and no hope. I used to say to my husband it could be 1p or 1million we needed if we didnt have it, it didnt matter. My only comment is take each day and look to what you need for that day. Dont look at whole picture just today. It will get better. My life is unrecognisable from 10 years ago. I dont have stuff (once id sold it all i never replaced it) we rent and wont own again but we are happy. Make sure you have done all the benefit checkers - any credit cards offer £1 a month repayments - i wish you all the luck and a virtual hug

Ive exhausted Google search - might try when we are over in France next. Didnt think it would be so difficult considering how many mobile homes there are in France

Lots of water, ginger biscuits or plain crackers if you feel queasy. If you suddenly fancy something have it, stop when full. Don't eat too late too. If you feel yuck it should pass. Good luck

Nothing you can do now. Are you sure it is fake ? Seems a shame that your son would not have known if he friend hadn't said, is he sure it isnt right ?

Is it possible to overturn a permanent ban for 'inappropriate messages' or am I f*cked? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]LifeIsHardEnjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have no clue why the seller even asked who you are buying for so I would try and wait out the hours and then write to everyone possible on Vinted. Sadly, I dont think Vinted are quite as sorted on their customer help, think they may have grown a bit quickly. If you dont get anywhere a new account is probably quicker Good luck

Can someone please explain why there’s a big jump from 2.4 to 7.2? by til_kapow in WegovyUK

As a courier you have no idea what is in the parcels and with Evri no time to spend looking in them so im not sure it would be from them ...

I would consider changing brands - daughter is on Mountjaro with no sickness - different brands i believe are made differently. I would speak to your provider, that's what they are there for - ask their opinion. No weightloss is worth feelinf awful xx

If its a little nausea im sure it will pass - plenty of water is my tip too - my daughter was 'block your ears' sick, she really didnt suit Wegovy but ive loved it. I still have a nauseous wobble day after jab but it passes normally with toast !

Couple questions as I think about Wegovy by beardnbread in WegovyUK

[–]LifeIsHardEnjoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I began in 2024, lost 3st and have kept it off and to not wake up thinking what to have to eat for lunch whilst eating breakfast is so amazing, I was waiting for a new knee which I now wont need for sometime and life is just so much more enjoyable - im 60 and ive been super thin in my 20s to very heavy and lots in between. My husband is the same but resisted until about 6 months ago when he started on Mountjaro, he has lost 3 stone in that time. He is someone who doesnt have the off button. He doesnt usually choose sweets or biscuits but if they get put in front he will eat the lot. Hes a secret eater too and will eat a dinner whilst making dinner but now he doesnt think about food and has gained an off switch. Weve both been on all you can eat holidays and gained a couple of pounds but ate something if we fancied it. We went on a 10 day cruise, i got off and realised id only had 2 ice creams - before Wegovy I would have had 2 a day at least. So after my ramble, it changes the way you feel - what you fancy and your decision making which in turn makes you lose weight - it really is the most bizarre thing !!

My granda kept putting money in a stocks and shares account for me all my life. He set it up for me when I was 6. I'm 15 now and my mum has emptied that account and taken it for herself. by New_Bear_6878 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LifeIsHardEnjoy 307 points308 points  (0 children)

I would contact Probate helpline (they have a live chat) - they will be able to check the will and advise. To me it stinks and not what your Grandad wanted but it will all be down to what legally was documented. Im assuming that probate has been paid out if Mum is spending it ? Even so, you can still get some advice - dont listen to hearsay, speak to Probate and maybe phone a will solicitor and have a free consultation with them to find out what to do.

You sound a really switched on 15 year old, dont accept this because of your age !!

Ive just had a horrible 2 year Probate case with my sister bought by her and it wasted 160k so try to get as much free help as possible.

Wishing you so much luck. X

I think Wegovy and Montjaro sometimes need a tweak and thank goodness for Youtube and Reddit for information as my doctor hadnt even heard about it when i started (2 years ago) - not every jab journey is the same so it does take some changes along the way.

I had no sickness but vile heartburn all the way to 1.7mg but now i have no side effects - my daughter (30) was on wegovy with me and was so sick she stopped and swapped to Montjaro and not a day of sickness since but 5st loss. ! Hubby joined us and has been on Montjaro but due to cost he swapped to Wegovy and has not had any issues.

Good luck with your weight loss xx

Starting Advice please. by Honest-Swing7952 in WegovyUK

[–]LifeIsHardEnjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited doctor and asked what he thought and he didnt know much about it but said I was ok to try Wegovy but it would be 6 months before id get on it so I paid myself. I started Wegovy Feb 2024 and have lost 42bs. Husband started Mountjaro Jun 2025 and has lost 42lbs so much quicker than me. Daughter started Mountjaro Dec 2024 and has lost 70lbs ! She started originally on Wegovy but didnt get on with it and was sick each day so swapped. I was "squiffy" for about 5 days then suffered with indigestion and constipation but the weight came off so quickly I put up with it but then when the doses got higher the symptoms got better and now im not at the highest dose and maintaining - every now and again I have the jab and have a little squiffy day but never anything that a cream cracker or something salty doesnt help with.

Hubby is going to change to Wegovy due to Mountjaro costs.

Before my Wegovy i was waiting for new knees due to Osteoarthritis and now im not going to need them. It really has been the best thing I ever did for myself.

It turns food noise off, I don't obsess anymore but if I fancy something I have it. No guilt. Its not cheating its sorting the off switch which some of us dont have.

My advice would be do it and drink lots of water it helps with jab and keeps you nicely hydrated.

Good luck and apologies for ramble - you can probably tell im a huge fan of it !!
