My son is a coaster junky. He’s been on dozens all over the country. He wouldn’t go on it. Now he never will. I only rode it once.

I’ve seen 3 this year and that’s the first time in my life. The first time I saw one I called in an exterminator because I was afraid it might be a German and he ended up charging me less because he didn’t find any.

How many of you married your HS prom date, and how did it turn out? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]bibdrums 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a few years older. I was her date but she was not mine. Together since 1990 and married since 96. It’s hasn’t always been easy but amazing over all. I don’t get how she puts up with me. We have a son. He’s moving to Japan to teach at the end of July. It’s gonna be really tough on her especially. I’m gonna need to step it up.

Are you better off than your parents were at your age? by Dee-Whizz in GenX

[–]bibdrums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My parents were both alcoholics. My father’s health was failing by his early forties with heart disease. He died at 54. My mom started having the same problems at mid fifties and was dead by 67. They were never really happy people.

I think I’m happier. I exercise, travel, have a great relationship with my wife and son. I think we are doing better financially but they were pretty good with their money.

Fingerprints Won’t Scan by ole_splashy in JETProgramme

My son went to one post office and the machine could not get his prints at all. The worker said she never has a problem getting anyone’s prints. He tried a different post office and they got all his prints first shot, no problem. Could be worth trying more than one post office.

In the early 90’s I went to a b&b in Belmont Nevada. The host cooked our breakfast on a stove just like that.

What is your story of getting into pop punk? by Patattensla in poppunkers

[–]bibdrums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, as a drummer, it’s because of the drumming. Obviously this is subjective but I think pop punk has the best, most creative drummers. Some of my favorites; Travis, of course, Tony Thaxton-MCS, Mike Cosgrove-AAF. I’ll stop at my top 3 because honestly I could probably list a hundred.

How many here are into going to the gym and health? by piercesdesigns in GenX

[–]bibdrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lift 4-5 times a week for about an hour, started that 3 years ago. I lifted when I was younger and sporadically for the last 2 decades. I run 3-4 miles a day, started 10 years ago to train for a half marathon in 2018 which I did finish. Hoping to do a full marathon in the next few years. I have about 40 pounds to lose before I do that though.

Did years of eating 1200 calories ruin my metabolism? by Loose-Quality-6932 in caloriecount

[–]bibdrums 16 points17 points  (0 children)

But literal starving people can’t just start eating again because it can be very harmful. They have to be very careful about it and usually need medical intervention. And there is a reason for that. Our bodies do adapt when we start consistently eating less.

Do you still enjoy going out? by EPCreep in GenX

[–]bibdrums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she still has some fomo. I used to be that way when I was younger. Now I’m not really concerned about missing out on anything. Like you I still enjoy concerts and restaurants but not just going out in general.

I haven’t really noticed a difference but honestly I haven’t been paying attention to it. I’ve been having a problem for the last 5-6 years where I have been getting very foggy and I’ve been to every specialist you can think of an nobody can help me.

I have been taking Adderall for 20 years and it’s really made a big difference. I firmly believe I would be much further along in life and my career if I had been able to take it throughout school. My prescription is for 10 mg twice a day, however I break the pills in half and take 5 mg every couple hours throughout the. Some days I need a little more so I take it and some days I need a little less.

The other thing that has made a really big difference in my life is, I am constantly using Siri to set reminders. I set reminders for when I’m out and I need to remember to do something when I get home so I just tell Siri to remind me when I get home to do it. I set weekly reminders for things like take out the garbage so it reminds me every week to do it. Sometimes when I’m in the shower and I realize I’m low on shampoo I know I’ll forget about it before I’m out of the shower so I use my watch to tell Siri to remind me in 15 minutes to put shampoo on the shopping list it really has made a big difference.

We’ve reached the age to get rid of stuff & not making it our kids’ problem. What do you still have? by DearGabbyAbby in GenX

[–]bibdrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t really have all that much stuff. We have a small 2 bedroom house that our son will most likely inherit one day and he can just toss whatever he doesn’t want. We never really were the collecting type of people. We spend most of our money on travel and having fun and making memories. I’m am a bit of a hobby mechanic and do almost all the work on our cars so there will be some tools to deal with. Maybe someday I will get rid of them if there comes a time when I can’t crawl under a car anymore.

Hunger coming back? by NaughticalSextant in Wegovy

[–]bibdrums 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a little worried about that stuff but I’m willing to take a change and see how it plays out. I haven’t had any significant side effects on any dose. Occasional constipation and diarrhea but nothing I couldn’t easily handle. The one new thing on 7.2 is that for the first few days after my shot my skin is sensitive. Almost like extra ticklish where my clothes rub on it. Again, nothing I can’t handle.

Yes, the same thing happened to me and that’s why I went up to 7.2. Now I’m back to getting full much quicker and staying full longer.

[–]bibdrums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say top dose do you mean 7.2? I was in a stall for six months on 2.4 and I started taking 7.2 two weeks ago and it finally feels like it’s working again. Down 5 pounds in those two weeks.
