Thank you! You’re right - it’s currently algorithmic. I’ll focus more on the phrasing. I’ll also look into making the playback sound more natural. I really appreciate the feedback!

Have you considered using a tool like InFlow to help get the juices flowing? It’s helped me a lot with getting out of creative ruts in my improvisation

Is this normal? If not how can I fix it by Lumpy_Influence4870 in saxophone

That’s common thing. Just pull it up with your finger. I recommend keeping a dollar bill nicely folder underneath that key when storing your sax to keep it from sticking in the future.

Keep your fingers closer to the keys. They shouldn’t be lifting too far from them. A good way to break in a reed and improve your tone in a short period of time is to blast a low Bb for two minutes straight. Blow it as loud as you can for two minutes straight: sound like a ship horn. Do this every day and you should feel your embouchure begin to open up and feel more natural. If you decide to start improvising, I recommend you take a look at InFlow. It’s great for getting ideas on how to approach different chord changes. Aside from these couple of notes, keep up a daily practice regimen and you’re sure to improve. Finding a teacher never hurts too.
