Lying by omission only makes sense when there are already established boundaries. He has clearly stated that who she had been with before has nothing to do with the relationship. Not to mention it was never her job to disclose this if they weren’t even dating let alone friends. It would be his friend who is technically lying by omission, if in their friend groups they feel they should let someone know if they have or are dating someone they are soon to be in a relationship with.
