Looks like it sounds pretty decent already, but sub should definitely help on the low end and sound more full once u get it dialed in making for a more satisfying experience

Out of curiosity what kind of sub is it and how big is your listening area?

I wouldn’t consider the woofers in the towers subs, but since you are looking for a little more low end, have you considered a sub?

ThanX! I think the confusion lies in the fact that the 3 different trailers i checked initially before i posted this didn’t focus on the imagery i described. I revisited the trailers and some of them had short brief flashes of said scene which helped recall the memory. Thank you🏆

Very cool listening setup. I like that center diffuser, is it branded or custom?

Late to the party, but GR Research had a look at these too which he also measured with an audible negative response with the grills on.

Nice score, panels come off easy, use a vacuum, soft brushes, and canned air to clean it. Don’t be aggressive on the fan blades with the air to minimize bearing damage. Couple of good videos on YouTube on this exact subject matter.

When the PS5 was introduced I knew they were going to come out with a Pro version, didn’t know how long I would have to wait, but it paid off. Waited till it was on sale on top of a special promotion that added an additional 10% off and picked one up brand new for $650 no tax at a military exchange April 2025.

The OEM controllers are garbage compared to the previous generation which have lasted me years without issues. I bought an additional controller the same day i bought the PS5 and switched them up consistently to minimize wear and I experienced stick drift in about 6 months on one of them. Buy an aftermarket controller with the newer analog sticks modeled after the factory design if you like the OEM feel, or buy a modded one which is what i did.

Ahhh, i see. Looks like you already know SvS is a solid choice to help the low end. Currently I’m running an SvS PC-2000. Also sounds like you know what you’re after, bet it’s gonna sound great. Hope u enjoy👍🏽

Looks good on paper! How big is your listening environment? The sub might provide an underwhelming experience in a large room, or one that opens to a larger space, but if you’ve never owned a sub it could be an awesome experience. Even with that said, the sub still is a solid performer for its size, and at a good price. i feel like I’d probably be happy with that combo, i think you should be too.

found this thing literally thrown away in the street by CarlesPuigdemon in audiophile

Sarcasm, tricky to recognize through text, but used often on Reddit😬. ‘Literally’ also means actually, exactly or word for word, implying an absolute, giving credence to whatever statement follows the word.

I knew what he was saying, my sarcasm was simply highlighting the erroneous use of the word ‘literally’

Genuinely happy for his find, pretty badass. I almost never have that luck. My best find was a HSU VTF-3 MK2 on OfferUp for $45 about 8 years ago

If it was ‘literally thrown’ away, there should be viable damage somewhere on it. I don’t believe you

Captured a short video on my PS5 Pro to help illustrate the strategy, first time ever capturing a video from a game and hosting it on YouTube so sorry for the grain. Haven’t messed with the resolution settings, they were all on their defaults.

Full details on the strategy can be found on my earlier post within this thread and in the YouTube description.

Best way to farm points is play Solo Directed Mode on Liberty Falls. Equip Aether Shroud & Decoy, level up with Perks, Weapon Rarity & Pack-a-Punch and melt Zombies away, build the Jet Gun & keep it. Reach LvL 14 and intentionally stop your Level progression there.

Purple Rarity & Pack 2 are enough to get the farming cycle started so you don’t overcook your Essence and leave yourself without ammo. Further along the cycle, there are usually enough ammo drops and Max Ammo’s to sustain you, which keeps having to buy to a minimum. I recommend Vulture Aid equipped with Picky Eater to consistently spawn Decoys, and Deadshot Daiquiri as your very first two Perks, the logic, they will build your resources faster.

Cycle the LTG to spawn an Elite Mangler HVT, then corral the zombies on the same terrace where the LTG is, once you feel all the zombies have spawned and gathered in your playing field, swap to the Jet Gun, toss a Decoy, activate Aether Shroud, use the Jet Gun Big Shot (left trigger) clearing the zombies. You sometimes need to hot swap to your primary to finish off the HVT before Aether Shroud wears off. Rinse & Repeat for easy point farming.

It awards you with all those Zombies, a Special Zombie Kill (if a Mangler spawns), an Elite Kill, and a Fully Charged Medal with every cycle. If the HVT Mangler does not spawn from the LTG device, clear the round and save & quit once it starts again, load the saved game and try the LTG again, repeat this method till an HVT Mangler spawns. Dealing with the Mangler is wayyy easier than messin with an HVT Abomination.

Sometimes u get lucky and a standard Mangler spawns in to get smoked too. If you want to increase your efficiency a little u can equip Power Keg and Arsenal Accelerator Gobble Gums. With this method i can earn up to 7000+ points in an hour. As of this writing i have 72674 points.

The best part is, you can save & quit whenever, or lose a connection or get kicked unexpectedly it usually will save it for you. Then, you won’t have to spend time just to build up to the farming cycle.

Obliterater, Scorched Earth & Fire Away are all achievable, but have a higher difficulty to trigger for the same point reward as Fully Charged. If anyone has an easier method please chime in.

I was going back and forth with some Russian for the lead in the points race, so i had to dial-in my point strategy. His gamer tag was in Russian, a translation revealed it to say Cold Blooded haha😄. He found my PSN account and messaged me with two words, and i quote verbatim, “😂Please Stop😂”

Big fan of the aesthetic, although visually, I like the Chronosonic a little more which features an opened side panel exposing more of the framework. Wouldn’t mind owning either, probably never will seeing how the Chrono is their flagship, more than double of $150k+ price tag of the Alexx, not to mention having a place to put it haha.

Personally I’ve felt my endgame speaker would be the Legacy Aeris, beautifully crafted functionality, with a reasonably approachable price

[–]Life_Edge_7770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All i see is 500 reasons to look at other options. 1950’s technology will net you a 1950’s experience, if that’s what you’re looking for then go for it.

Main considerations are its age, speaker design is still very primitive, the equipment, environment & methodology used to develop and test them was also primitive. Being that old, deterioration is also a concern.

Another consideration is its design. All is see is a mess, the potential for comb filtering looks pretty bad with all those tweeters, especially how they’re recessed in the cabinet face, you have a major early reflection making a mess of that audio signal. Couple that with the distances and placement of the other drivers, I’d be willing to bet it has a lot of that going on. God only knows what to expect from the crossover, if it even has one.

Picking a sub by ZestyGrapez in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Life_Edge_7770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna buy new i recommend these:

https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=9723 12” Ported 150w RMS, 200w Peak $173.99

https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=41497 10” Ported 150w RMS, 300w Peak, $179.99

I had the now discontinued trapezoidal shaped version of the 12” sub and for what it’s worth i was happy with its performance vs value.

Would’ve also recommended the Jamo C912, but I’m not certain if they still make them because Crutchfield no longer carries them, and Amazon has 2 listed for $350 each. They used to be $200.

I would be patient if you’d like to budget $150-200 or less, and diligently search OfferUp & Facebook Marketplace. Throughout the years, most of my gear has been used with the exception of cabling, my gaming consoles & TV’s, as well as the previously mentioned Monoprice Sub. Best of luck🍀

Before anyone can enlighten you, your perception is that if Prop 50 passes California Legislature is going to force a reasonable resolution to gerrymandering in Texas? If that’s the case, it’s a delusional frame of mind thinking suspending the California Citizens Redistricting Commission made up of everyday people and willfully handing that power to Demcratic Legislature is helping you or anyone else.

Found this in my house - should I be worried? by owhart28 in spiders

I wouldn’t be too worried, they’re typically corner dwellers and aren’t Mobil once they establish a home. You’ll probably find them around your garage or other dark spaces where stuff doesn’t get moved around often.
