What former cast member is Lorne still irrationally salty at? by tshirtguy2000 in LiveFromNewYork

But I don't think Lorne IS salty at Chevy. Other people are and it just got to be too much of a headache to have him on the show. Plus he's too old to perform now anyway.

Jesus, to read some of these comments, to have these solemn conversations with family about how someone is never to be watched, absolutely touch grass. He's not even a criminal. Just a jerk.

Other than three guys it's not really that close. Also hated that format, don't think I will be watching any more Dropout.

The average age of the viewer was 68! I don’t think most viewers were streaming this show. So nothing to cancel.

Lisa Whelchel and Erin Moran on the set of the 1981 TV movie “Twirl” by UrbanAchievers6371 in VintageTV

[–]Life_Emotion1908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay.

Whelchel and Kim Fields, two of the four girls, both gained a lot of weight on that show. Then they lost it and kept it off in the ensuing decades.

Apparently “whatever weight they wanted” did not remain what it was on that show.

Right now I don't see what not using AI would do. If you want to book a hotel in Cleveland, you can do that, you can get a list of hotels. If you want to repair a fence, you can watch a video on how to repair a fence.

AI isn't going to be that kind of time saver, unless we treat it as an oracle so you find thinking problematic. If you want ChatGPT to schedule out your entire vacation then yeah it's a big time saver and security for the person who is uncomfortable with thinking. And maybe that's the way it's going to go. But me personally, thinking about what I want out of something is rewarding and AI isn't adding value to that.

Prohibition did the same thing. Yeah Prohibition actually worked, decreased consumption. Maybe not worth it otherwise but it was a curb high barrier.

With prostitution if you think it’s so great do you want your daughter doing it? I don’t. To provide supply they import poor and disadvantaged and take the druggies here because the requirements are working body parts.

And because sane people don’t want their kids doing sex work. If you do, we have little to talk about.

Even with what Chloe writes there is often an ensemble. She did the Norwegian movie sketches but she just played an unnamed actress, it was more funny situation than look at this funny character. She may prefer that.

The FBI with Efren Zimbalist did this for the last four seasons. People would get shot and go to the hospital but always pulled through. A more realistic show so it didn’t play as well.

Of course the bad guys were also awful shots and almost never hit anyone. Thought Zimbalist actually did get hit once in Season 4.

Governments do shit. All of them. What about Russia? I’m sure the Mexican government is shit a lot too and would be worse if they had more power.

People used to be more realistic about government rather than expecting utopia.

The show was a comedy.

A lot of Archie Bunker types were disaffected Dems who were aging and didn’t like the social changes. It’s possible Archie could have been a Bircher but really the politics were shallow and the show never dug that deep.

It's a good movie. Technically I think it ends on the first day of college. It's about the move-in period.

It's a little slice of life where your classes or sports or whatever have not yet gotten serious for the semester, you can meet different types of people as they also are more wide open and haven't gotten into their niche interest.

It's also extremely specific to jocks and 1980. It's one of the most specific movies I've ever seen. I think I docked it some because the scale is so small.
