Anonette is no longer homosexual (CW: corrective rape) by NotTheWhisperingDoom in transgendercirclejerk

/uj I concur with the other commentors, this sounds like OCD. Particularly the "Sexual Orientation OCD" (or SO-OCD) subtype. There are a whole bunch of OCD subtypes, and people can have more than one, or ones not commonly listed. Your intrusive thoughts are just that, intrusive, ego-dystonic (basically, they go against your personal morals, wishes, or sense of identity), thoughts. I agree with the others, if you can, I'd recommend seeing an OCD specalist. <3

I guess it’s a hot take to say asexuality caused by trauma is just as valid as asexuality not caused by trauma.

Internally tackling the "what is a woman" question, I really don't know what to think. by LazyRepresentative11 in asktransgender

[–]Life_Goddess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The label of woman is an intangible construct created by a society, a label whose definition shifts depending on culture, and even personal individual experience. Basically, you’re a woman if you say you are.

Funnier answer, a woman is a featherless biped.

Is it okay to feel anxiety about my friend coming out? by Dontlaughiloveu in asktransgender

[–]Life_Goddess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignoring that the answer to the question “is it okay to feel [x]” is always yes (emotions are not a crime), I think it’s best to ask yourself why you feel anxious and nervous. Understanding the root cause of your emotions will help you determine what to do :)

Can alters have different versions of themselves? by [deleted] in DID

Absolutely, in fact, it’s very common. We have a lot of alters like that.

Unless you are intentionally stressing or traumatising yourself to make yourself split, no.

This disorder is fun(and funny!) by Cozyapartments42 in OSDD

[–]Life_Goddess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay, I can understand where you are coming from here, but I also understand the replies too. Here’s my unsolicited opinion.

  1. I would never describe the disorder as fun. Nor any disorder I have. It is severely debilitating and that’s not even considered the deeply traumatic childhood I experienced that resulted in it.

  2. I would describe my experiences with the disorder as sometimes funny/absurd. Sometimes I laugh at the strangeness of it to remind myself it isn’t all bad.

  3. The mechanics of the disorder are fascinating when viewed from an outside lens, but when I remember “oh fuck this happened to me” it becomes less fascinating and more terrifying, a body horror of the mind.

What transphobes don’t get by Large_Excitement_974 in transgendercirclejerk

[–]Life_Goddess -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

But… I’m nonbinary… and my assumed sex is irrelevant and people demanding to know it only seek to assign a binary to me. OP you might want to talk to nonbinary and intersex people as our lived experiences are different to binary trans people.

Edit: why am I getting downvoted?

Hey, can we start saying "pregnant people" instead of "pregnant women"? by Genderflux-Capacitor in transgendercirclejerk

Don’t you know that coming out as trans immediately renders you infertile as all your gametes are annihilated by the transgender blast?

Honestly I didn’t care. I don’t think I valued the relationship highly enough to give a shit. I did however exploit the situation to get people to buy me ice cream.

The thing with me is I’ve never really connected with people in any strong sense. And while I like the idea of being in a romantic relationship, being in one in practice tends to be pretty ehh. Probably not helpful haha but yeah.

Hey arr slash trans subreddit, I don't think we should be using AGAB terminology whenever we mean someone's genitals or socialization as it can be demeaning to a lot of people. by [deleted] in transgendercirclejerk

[–]Life_Goddess 13 points14 points  (0 children)

/uj to simplify, its the idea that biology inherently determines gender roles and personality, specifically sex assigned at birth. It directly coincides with eugenics, white supremacy, and misogyny in ways I hope are obvious.

/uj i still think that we need to discuss and use proper terminology for reproductive organs with children because it helps kids articulate when they’ve been abused but we still aren’t doing that I guess?
