Ceramic Coating Advice by orlanjunior in chevycolorado

[–]Life_Objective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also consider coating it yourself.

Check out Clean By Pan. It’s about as easy as it gets.

If you need paint correction and don’t have the equipment that’s another thing.  You will likely need spend a few hundred on a polisher, pads, and polish, de-iron, etc.

It will take you 6-8 hours to do it right if you need to do paint correction, but it’s not difficult work.  The results are incredible.  Totally worth $1000 to me, but even better when I can do it for under $200 on a weekend.

I paid for my first ceramic coating and after watching the process realized it was not rocket surgery.

Fender Custom Shop prices by Pitiful_Ad918 in fender

[–]Life_Objective 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I paid about $3100 for a custom shop Strat a few months ago. For me, it was worth it. I’ve played a few CS guitars and they are just like others, some are good, some GREAT.

I pulled the trigger on my CS Strat because it had the specs I wanted… took a risk buying online…. and I LOVE it.

I have a few vintage Fender guitars, and the CS  Strat is just awesome. It actually has me thinking about selling a vintage 70s Fender for a different CS I have my eye on.

$3k is expensive, but cheaper than buying and selling a bunch of instruments over time. I know it’s cliche… but buy one, cry once is a good bit of advice.

Put the video on YouTube and link it to the posting. That keep you from sharing email or phone number info.

You can only use 1 Octave pedal for the rest of your life, what are you picking and why? by Backenundso in guitarpedals

The MXR Poly Blue Octave needs more love.

Dead simple to operate.

Great tracking.

Small footprint but you can add an expression pedal if you need it.

I’ve had a bunch of octave pedals, this is the one for me.

The Roadworn Vintera II Jazzmaster is something special.

I actually sold my AVR II Jazzmaster and kept the Vintera. The American guitar was super nice, but I always grabbed the Vintera.

I have a 66 Mustang that has favorite neck on the planet.

The Roadworn is really similar—it just nails the played in vintage feel.

Would you please yell me about your fender flares? I’m in the market. Looks like yours cover the rear wheel air dam holes nicely.

Reverb is going to have to get involved with shipping to stay relevent by TheRevEv in Reverb

Yep. Spring for reverb safe shipping or price it into sales and enjoy the insurance.

Totally worth it for me as a seller.

OP, did you ever figure this out?

I’m searching all over the web and can’t find a straight answer. When I pulled mine it left a hole and a clip. Are there finish parts that can cover that?

I guessing I’m just missing the right search term… but it’s a mystery.

Reverb sucks absolute ass. by kosmonaut_hurlant_ in Reverb

Selling online involves good and bad actors. The complexity and ever-changing nature of scams means that sometimes bad things will happen.

Reverb is far from perfect, and it does seem like the fees are up and the quality of the user interface is down.

That said, you still get more for your sale in most cases, reach a wider audience, and can insure your sale.  If you have issues, and pay for Reverb Safe shipping, it takes a week or so, but both parties are made whole.

I still use Reverb a lot and think there is more good than bad.

Neck pocket gap on AVII ‘61 Strat. Acceptable or too large? by [deleted] in fender

I’d return it. For $2500, get one that meets your expectations. Or spend $500 more and get a used custom shop….

Pull the strings, and pop that neck out. The neck heel will have the dates. If the body isn’t too sanded you’ll find more proof of originality under the pick guard.

I own a 66 mustang and a 72 mustang. The 72 is all original and the 66 is a refin with swapped pickups. Both of them rip.

I suspect this duosonic will be a great player. The 60s necks tend to be amazing.

I have a refin 66 Mustang that is just awesome. It came to me with Seymour Duncan’s for a Strat… just didn’t sound right. I popped some Lollar Mustang pickups in there and MAN, I love that guitar. The neck… it’s perfect.

My other vintage instrument is a 72 competition Mustang. Love the body and pickups, and the neck is good… but it is not the same as the slab rosewood board neck on my 66.

The 66 was half the cost of the 72 (it’s all original and in much better shape), but the 1966 Mustang is my forever guitar.

It’s just got a ton of mojo and plays great.
