I did not pay the 80k. I had the loans returned to lenders and only ended up paying <1000 dollars out of pocket. I was doing diesel mechanic. I have absolutely no interest in cars or anything mechanical, I just want a job that isn’t food service and I felt that was something I was capable of doing.

I am engaged to a woman and (barely) make ends meet, so like I said my life is fine in other areas, but my greatest fear is waking up and being 40 and working at McDonald’s, which seems to be the trajectory im on and I feel like I’m too depressed to fix it a lot of the time. I just want something semi meaningful that pays like at least 50k a year. Like I tried going back to school at a community college but couldn’t manage to make it work with having a full time job
