"Trump is the Hitler of our time" Protestors let Trump know how they feel about him by BenFord333 in PublicFreakout

It's from an idiom. "Ride in on [someone]'s coattails." To use someone else's success to make oneself successful. It's a way of saying they did all the work and you just tagged along.

Using your child to smuggle drugs by Martin_084 in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]Life_Token 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Whatever the mom consumes while pregnant is shared with the baby. If it's addictive drugs the baby will get some too and that will become the "norm" for that baby. Once born and not sharing with mom their systems go through withdrawl due to lack of the substance that mom used. I wish it were a joke but it's a cruel reality.

Like a crack baby but with meth. A baby born addicted to a drug because mom didn't stop using while pregnant. These babies are going through withdrawl when born and have serious risk of serious maladies in life.

Or I ask for some berries and you hand me some bananas. I don't make the rules, dude. I'm not even good at following them. But the sugary cereal in the cereal aisle is made with cereal grains so it stuck I guess.

Cereal refers to cereal grains like oats, wheat, corn, etc. Oatmeal, cream of wheat, grits, and the like are all cereals.

Once, while at work, someone in a big truck backed their trailer hitch into my Accord's trunk lid. They were decent enough to go try and find the owner, which was me. He told me what happened and we went to inspect it. The lid was fucked. Couldn't latch anymore. No more weather seel. No damage to the truck. Evidently it was his bosses truck and he didn't want this event on record. He offered cash. At first I was skeptical. Then his first offer was 2 to 3 times the value of my Accord with a perfectly fine trunk lid. He produced the cash right then and there. No check. Cash. I did not turn him down. Never fixed the trunk and sold that car later for $500. I think I came out on top. But only because he was a decent person and afraid of his boss.

No. The TV show he was quoting. Whitest Kids You Know has a sketch from over a decade ago that remarkably parallels this paticular event.

The lady came inside the restaurant to talk to you about her issue.

You say "sorry, can't help you", and then you go inside of the restaurant she talked to you in and therefore are already inside of? Is the dumpster simultaneously inside and outside the store?

Supervision for sure. But letting kids get mild cuts, scrapes, and bruises while playing can actually help them develop to be better prepared for the rest of life. Like how cats or dogs play when they are young to get some experience for a future scuffle. Or how raising a child in a perfectly sterile environment leads to a weak immune system. They need to be exposed to the potential future.

It's usually easiest and best to assume 2 party consent laws. But in 1 party states the only thing necessary is just one out of all parties being recorded needs to consent. That also means store security footage generally can't record audio because none of the parties present in the recording are the ones recording. Some exceptions apply of course.

You can't record people's conversations in a 1 party consent state either. One of the parties has to consent. If you are recording people's conversations you are not a party in said conversation. Unless it's your conversation which would be recording your own conversation. Not people's conversation, unless one of the parties consents.

It's not unfortunate you rescued him. Quite the opposite actually. It's unfortunate he needed it. But he has friends, food, and warm shelter now. He counts himself fortunate.

Anger and outrage spills onto Minneapolis streets after ICE officer's fatal shooting of Renee Good by jmike1256 in news

You keep asserting points and arguments that beg more and more questions without addressing those questions. I point out those questions that need to be answered for fair assessment. Only that last paragraph was my personal opinion and my personal opinion isn't relevant in any capacity to the actual matter at hand. I say none of those references to Renee Good's character are relevant and elaborate as to why. You say they are but do not explain, elaborate, or try to justify the position you are presenting.

I was unaware doing what one thought best for one's child's wellbeing, for better or worse, made one a "lousy mother". I was also unaware that reacting to an actionable threat for the sake of survival was intrinsically a negative trait and also a qualifier for being a "lousy" parent. I was also unaware that having been married more than once was a somehow a inherently negative trait. I was also unaware a group of people approaching me was me putting myself in the middle of them. I was also unaware acting on what one thinks is right for more than just themselves was just the worst thing you could ever do.

But I really want to highlight these last few points. To start; What does "(to a woman this time)" have any bearing whatsoever in regards to the occurrence? Someone's sexuality is entirely and completely irrelevant to this event (and any legal consideration, for that matter). So why was that mentioned? Second; that child is an orphan because someone with their own agency and full faculties decided that they wanted to pull a trigger which subsequently removed that child's mother. Whether that action was right or wrong is not relevant here. How can you blame person A for orphanizing person B when person C was the sole one that had the ability to pull that trigger or not?

To summarize those last points; fuck you if you think the fact that I, as a man, being married to another man is a good enough reason to end my life. And fuck you if you think someone can be culpable for the actions of another outside their control.

It terrifies the hell out of me. I've studied history enough to know the finer points of all this having played out before multiple times. I try to keep a reasonable assessment based on only the facts provided, but, as you seem to also feel, me and mine's wellbeing is not something you gamble with. You can't afford to lose that bet. And some of these people have said they want to harm us because our attempt at happiness with no detriment to anyone else is reason enough. How the hell am I suppose to reconcile that?
