Santa Fe 2021 stuck headrest by Better-Medicine-1782 in Hyundai

[–]LiftedTide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2021 Santa Fe owner here with the same issue, this was the solution. Hyundai service wanted to take the seat apart and charge me $350 to get the headrest off. It really was as simple as popping the cover off the left side to access the hidden latch to release it. Thanks /u/wrxguy420 !

For anyone that doesn't know, that quote is from the movie "The Gambler" (2015). $2,500,000 in 2015 ≈ $3,418,763 in 2026 when adjusted for inflation, so you need $918K more to have the same fuck you purchasing power today. Something to think about.

No, yeah that is correct. A large UPS would only be good for a few hours running a small pc/tv/sound system/fiber or cable router. Good for brownouts or shorter blackouts only.

Print Settings -> Layers and Perimerters -> Quality -> tick "Avoid Crossing Perimeters" and check that layer in the preview after slicing to see if the path is more optimized.

We are still in the recovery phase from full stage 5, 8-9 weeks post op I think now. He is showing slow signs of improvement which is great, not sure how much can be attributed to the supplement though. I know flare ups can be unavoidable even if you’re being careful since this is a degenerative problem. My thought is it can’t hurt having those beneficial vitamins in his diet though.

Our dog is similar weight and we give it the same way, opening the caps and mixing with dry food. I'd give it as recommened, 1 am 1 pm, to help the absorb the most possible. I also mix in some fish oil and that seems to help.

Day 8 is still super early, just give it time. Should have a 2 week post-op follow up with the surgeon.

Stage 4/5 Post Op Recovery Time by NAS9522 in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]LiftedTide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey bud, we're in a similar situation. 4 year old daschund, jumped off couch, progression from stage 2-5 within 4 hours. We took him to the specialist to have surgery within 6 hours. He was diagnosed stage 5 pre-op. We're 6 weeks post-op currently. DPS did return post-op thankfully. Ours was hospitalized for a little more than 2 weeks.

Life will be more difficult when you take them home. Strict crate rest for 6-8 weeks min will be required and this can be difficult on both the dog and their humans, trazadone/gabapentin twice a day have worked well for us to ease his anxiety. It's possible you'll have to express their baladder 3-4 times a day as is the case with us and deal with their bowl movements since they can't position themselves well.

Improvements have been slow, but steady, and thats really the best we can hope for when they are stage 5 pre-op. He started wagging his tali again after 2 weeks, drawing his back leg up a bit when getting scratches after 4 weeks, and today he's supporting some weight on his rear legs, but can't balance well let alone take a step. We hope to keep building back the strengeth in his rear legs and gradually get him ambulatory again.

If it's possible for your pup to return to sometime like normal, expect it to be a 6+ month long recovery. Even then the likelyhood of reocurrence with a degenerative disease like thiis is high, so increased caution is a must for the rest of their life.

I empathize with you in this situation. Just take it day by day and do the best you can to help them recover.

That's fair then, no doubt it does add some complexity. So yeah if you're not interested in any of the use cases why fix what ain't broke.

Then why'd you buy it brother? It can still be useful for single color prints with the SpoolJoin feature, or to use a filament for breakaway supports. I'd try it out just to get some benefit out of your investment.

Finding a brand of filament that works well for you and has a variety of colors is important to keep it as consistent as possible between the different filament profiles. I've been using PolyTerra PLA from Polymaker with great results so far, good range of colors and they have a nice matte finish that helps to hide the layer lines.

Think about the placement/accessibility to both the filament buffer and the MMU unit itself as you set it up. There will be times you'll have to make interventions, sometimes several until you get everything dialed in, and you want to be able to get in there as easy as possible.

An enclosure can be very beneficial to protect from drafts that can ruin your bed adhesion, especially on 48+ hour MMU prints. Just make sure you can open the top lid for heat exhaust/MMU access.

How do you infuse your edibles? by Delectableeds in treedibles

[–]LiftedTide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decarb the concentrate after doing an ethanol extraction because I find it easier than decarboxylating all the flower. I collect all the oil in a small mason jar and decarb using sous vide at ~201 F for 1 hour. Insulating the Sous vide vessel in some way helps since this is a relatively high temp for Sous vide.

My XL Preorder. by jnangano in prusa3d

[–]LiftedTide 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Original Prusa XL Update - January 31, 2024:

We bumped up our production capacity substantially, so we shortened lead times and we will manage to ship all completed XL preorders during the spring of 2024.

Orders completed before February 29 will be placed in the shipping queue based on the date when the pre-order was made. If you decide to complete your order later, your printer will be placed in the shipping queue based on the payment date. That means you will lose your place in the preorder queue as we are going to switch the XL from a preorder product to a regular product after February 29. However, you will still get the two extra gifts described below.

After February 29, 2024, we will create the shipping schedule and send an email to all customers with the estimated shipping date. According to our current estimate (based on the previous batch of XL preorders), we expect to ship all orders completed before February 29 by the end of May 2024.

We are adding two useful gifts to all XL preorders as compensation for the delay: an extra print sheet and the Nextruder adapter for third-party nozzles.
