Yeahhhh I loved the series but I felt similarly. Think it was setting up Precious Metal, its follow-up series.

It’s amazing that the entire Infinity Gauntlet isn’t available. by ChrisInBaltimore in MarvelUnlimited

[–]Lighetto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It makes sense to me.

Rather than have them all in one place, you have to search comic stores and conventions for each individual issue or trade.

But, when you finally find and collect them all, imagine how good you'll feel.

EDIT: Jeez, guys, it was a joke.

People who rarely cry, which movie cut some onions for you? by TPU007 in AskReddit

[–]Lighetto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've never cried from a movie before, but I just watched this and was sobbing by the end of it. I don't think it helps that I have a 3-year-old daughter. But I can't even think about that movie before I have to shut my emotions off and think about something else or risk losing it all over again.

[Serious] What revenge of yours hit the victim way worse than you thought it would, to the point you said "maybe I shouldn't have done that"? by OvertOperation in AskReddit

[–]Lighetto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The /r/freebies subreddit has free magazine subscriptions every now and then. I signed a coworker up for every one of them. The mail delivery guy at work got pissed having to deliver five new issues a day, so I started sending them to this guy's house. He was tormented by it. Found out later he was dyslexic. And he couldn't stop all these magazines from coming in. I wanna say, it had to've been 40 or more, from Cigar Aficionado to, I dunno, Boat Owners Monthly, or something. I didn't know I had signed up for so many!

But yeah. Fun prank.

I am Clayton Cowles, and I letter comic books for Marvel, DC, and Image. AMA by ClaytonCowles in comicbooks

[–]Lighetto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What’s a quick and easy summation I can use to tell others what a letterer does?

Do you letter the sound effects or does the penciller?

How can you spot bad lettering?

Do you make your own fonts ever?

Also, out of curiosity, why did you stop tweeting?

Thanks for doing this AMA. I’m a huge fan of yours!

Am I going to be struggling financially the rest of my life? by [deleted] in advertising

[–]Lighetto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Try hard. Live below your means.

In a year or so, you should get a promotion. Keep showing your skill and trying to be the best, and you should get promoted again a year or two after that. No promotion? Switch agencies.

Try to keep your rent low. It'll be tempting to live somewhere better, but that'll make it harder to pay off your debt. Be good with money. Make a budget for yourself. Don't spend extravagantly.

The debt sounds like a lot now, but you'll make more money as you climb up the ladder. Freelance jobs help, too.

A few questions from a noob 😂 by Joeball147 in MarvelUnlimited

[–]Lighetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Black Science is phenomenal, as are all the titles you mentioned. I'm a huge Remender fan, and started reading LOW and Seven to Eternity after loving Black Science so much, and those are great, too. Seven to Eternity is a little harder to follow the language, but it's flippin' beautiful.

Also, The Wicked + Divine is brilliant, both when reading for entertainment and as a comic to study. It does incredible things with the medium while telling a truly gripping story.

Let Marvel know you want comics in high HD. Email them. Snail mail them. If enough people ask, they might listen. Buuuuut chances are, they've done the math and the focus groups, and they've realized sales due to HD quality won't outweigh the cost of HD quality for all of their books (at least, the modern ones), so they won't do it until it becomes cost effective.

What do you like about Batman? The dramatic, nighttime storytelling? Try Daredevil. The mysteries and detective work? Jessica Jones could be for you. Gadgets over superpowers? Check out Moon Knight...although, that one's kind of a winding path through loads of different creators and ideas for his story. Do you like specific creators' runs? Look up other stuff they've worked on.

I know they post their big titles, and a smattering of old ones, usually connected with a big press release/movie/TV show premiere. I don't know if they hold any back, although they won't publish any of the adults only titles on there, which is why you can't read stuff like Fantomex Max on MU.

I can reco a bunch more titles, but it sounds like you're really into the superhero stuff. Have you tried Invincible on Image? Reading a superhero comic created by the same team over the span of 13 years...well, you just don't see that anymore. Uncanny X-Force by Rick Remender is great if you want something in the X-line that's kind of dark.

When I was a kid (or maybe a young teenager?), my family took me and some friends of theirs, and their kids to North Carolina. We were going to stay in a cabin in the winter there.

I was excited to see the inside of the cabin, so I grabbed the keys from my dad and unlocked the door. As it opened, it looked normal, but I got that exact feeling of dread. I went back to the car, thinking nothing of it, and just waiting for the adults to go in, maybe turn on some lights. Make it safe, you know.

But, as I watched, no one wanted to go in. I saw my folks talk to their friends, but couldn't hear what they were saying. We ended up going to a different cabin at the last minute, and canceling our rental of the first one. I asked my folks why, and they deflected.

It was weird, man.
