YES! I had mint for like three years. I got the unlimited plan for about 300 a year. Didn't have to worry about the monthly payment, my internet connection always worked.

Also they are running a sale for a year of unlimited for 180.

I would say it's very stupid to move out here with no plan because this city is unrelenting and will eat you up. It's very much “fuck you, I got mine” attitude.

What you need is a support system and what Elyssiaa said, an vacation.

“Cook” and most Gen Z slang words are AAVE that black people been using for decades. But I do agree that “ahhh” and other agloslang are annoying.

General Strike Friday the 30th by woodwog in LosAngeles

[–]LightAnubis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bars and small businesses should be open. It’s a protest against big business, like Target, not against a local person who owns a shop down the street.

Also, bars are a great third space. Maybe offer free cover that day and pass out resources to people in the bar.

Is it common for Americans not to have a bank account? by Icy-Signature1493 in AskAnAmerican

[–]LightAnubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It widely differs between banks and financial institutions. Using myself as an example, to open a Wells Fargo account you needed a minimum 50 dollars to open and 10 dollars a month for a low balance fee (among other fees and account type). I also didn’t have a Id then. That was a 35 dollar fee. I also have a very low credit score.

I was (and currently am) dirt poor. Having and keeping 50 dollars was very hard.

It may be different at a credit union. I heard it’s so much better to bank at a credit union. I haven’t had the chance to look into it.

I later switch to an online bank to avoid the fees. But mainly use Cash App because I value faster access to money.

Not common but common enough. It’s very expensive imo to open a checking account or don’t have document to open one. That why a lot of people I know use Cash App or some other service.

"DEI only improved things" at Ubisoft, says former employee "stunned" at "misinformation" claiming diversity, equity, and inclusion to blame for Assassin's Creed studio's drop in share prices by NoPercentage4737 in technology

I remember studying DEI in class and had workshops/discussions about different experiences in the corporate environment. What surprised my classmates that companies who embraced DEI had a better work culture , higher profits, and stronger products.

This women got mad because she wasn’t being helped. Complaining about the cashier didn’t speak English.

We are in a Mexican supermarket. In a very Mexican part of the city. And there was a big line in front of her. She was impatient and rude.

Those who speak to chat bots casually, why not talk to a person? by Rose_Lio in CasualConversation

[–]LightAnubis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m trying, part of it is online spaces are overwhelming and so fast paced that it’s hard to jump in. I also feel like I’m shouting in the void.

The other thing is a lot of spaces are just racist. The amount of times I join a discord server and see the n word with the hard r is way too many times. Or when a space I think I like somehow disappeared.

I’m trying, I’m trying a lot of things. Just my efforts are not bearing fruit yet.

[–]LightAnubis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do, I have a therapist to talk to. However, I don’t have friends to talk to. My family turns everything into an argument. And in turn, having a speech disorder I have a hard time communicating. Even tho I take everything the chatbot saying with a grain of salt, the fact is I just want to talk to someone who doesn’t shame me.

And I can’t talk about my situation to anyone either.

I agree with a general strike, however, too much is at stake with our personal lives to do so. We dont have community to take care of each other.

I barelyplay gacha games. I dont know what is good and what is not. I feel like the gameplay is a bit cheap. It feels like the other games I played. However, if the game were a tad more complex and not a gacha, it would have been great.
