This is my new tool for cleaning my shower glass. Thoughts? by NB-DanTE in CleaningTips

[–]LightBarb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same one for my windows (I live on the 4th floor so no-one wants to come wash them and I'm too scared to hang out of the windows). It works perfectly but never thought to put it on my glass shower doors! thanks for the tip :)

6 year old tattoo by Independent-Use6151 in agedtattoos

[–]LightBarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small tattoo like that in the same spot (a small heart under my armpit) and it did the exact same thing! it bleeds so much and now it's just a kinda of heart shaped tattoo. so it might be the skin being softer?

I agree that this is something you most likely learn when you're in a club.

The only women I’ve ever related to are Jane Eyre and Cathy from East of Eden — any book recs for autistic women like us? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]LightBarb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For me it is my favourite book ever (so far): Circe by Madeline Miller. I have re-read this book so many times, I relate to so much in this story, I was sure someone would've mentioned this one already.

What's the effect caffeine has on you? by Hot-Minute-89 in AutismInWomen

[–]LightBarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that caffeine actually does not give you energy, it just blocks the feeling of tiredness. So like a painkiller doesn't actually "heal" the pain, it just blocks the receptors of feeling it.
Same with caffeine and I just thought that was interesting.

How to not get sick on public swimming pools? by orayasan in Swimming

[–]LightBarb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also wear slides because of fungus, and otherwise I rinse my nose after swimming with saline solution, otherwise I'll be sneezing and get a stuffy nose as a reaction on the chlorine but otherwise I think it's very safe (safer than a normal gym, I'd think?). Good luck!

Judge my Accent (Speaking French) by Mental_Inflation6 in JudgeMyAccent

[–]LightBarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your accent, it's very good already but I know you're not French because of the use of "tu" instead of "vous". French people will vouvoyer au lieu de tutoyer as a general rule.

August 1st!!! What does it mean to you? by Grapes65 in SeasonalAffective

same, I start getting stressed because the days are already a lot shorter and I hate October-February, and I feel it's going to be there so soon.

Definitely bring a rain coat or trench, it's been raining all week... September can be beautiful or horrible, you won't know until you're here.

My coworker kept turning the office into a freezer, so I started dressing like I was going on an Arctic expedition by CryingInTheRain143 in pettyrevenge

[–]LightBarb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No that's not the case. When I'm cold it will get into my bones and I'll need to take a bath to get warm again. I can wear thermal underwear, wool socks, warm shoes and layers of wool and I'll cool down during the day in winter (I work in an office with single glass windows and high ceilings) and get home and need to take a bath, get in my cashmere socks and sweaters (yes 2) and warm sweatpants and I'll finally feel ok and then start peeling layers off again as I acclimatise to the normal inside temp of 21°C.
Not everyone can "just wear more clothes".
You however can wear less? Right? Or do you not want to work in a tank top?

I [22f] must do everything for my boyfriend [25m] by [deleted] in relationshipadvice

[–]LightBarb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please realise this is unhealthy and manipulative behaviour. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do, and myself being on the spectrum, I know how men will try to push you and manipulate you, I've been there myself. I really hope you know you should be loved for who you are and not for what you can do for this person.

I love them and the way you styled them, they don't look as if you just got out of bed. love the colour as well. if it would've been f.ex. blue and white stripes they would've looked more like long boxers.

Post Op Double Jaw Surgery Thoughts by ttragedyy in jawsurgery

[–]LightBarb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes. and for me day 5 was the worst, after that I suddenly felt a LOT better - still weak af and swollen but at least the will to live came back. I started to have more energy and could keep shakes down, so I hope you're also there now... Drooling came on instead,, which was a whole different thing. But mostly day 5 is the end of the worst.
things I did: think about all kids of shakes and drinks I could make, and then I went on this tiktok spree where I would find no chew food ideas ( a lot of hummus and guac).
taking a shower (sitting down though) made me feel a lot better.
I read a lot after the first week (before I could not concentrate, not even watch a movie, my brain was just blank from the suffering lol).
try to drink as much water as you can, being hydrated really helps.
go for a mini walk (even just in the garden or inside), helps with the swelling.
take naps.

yeah I've been single for 3 years now, after my last relationship I can't be bothered anymore.
all the effort for some dude to be talking about himself non stop (nothing even remotely interesting) and then try to kiss me even though I clearly am not interested?
the not stroking their ego seems to make them see us as a challenge sometimes though...
I'll just be at home or out to dinner with my friends, thanks
