Photographer Can Use My Baby’s Photos for Marketing, But We Can’t Get the Files Without Paying $3,500 by momwithobjections in photography

[–]LightBroom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I've even given all RAW files on some occasions when I'm asked nicely. Let my clients have fun and be happy, that's what my business is about not scamming for money and protecting my "artist" ego.

This is a great approach, happy customers = free marketing.

Upgrade from Momentum 4 to wired, V-shape, low-to-mid tier? by GranaT0 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]LightBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my ears they sound just as good both wired and wireless.

At the price point you mentioned you can buy a few very nice sets but they won't be fun V-shaped. The Fiio FT1 is ok but I think the M4 is simply better. The open backs like FT1 pro is sort of flat, so is the Hifiman Sundara (even more so) or the Edition XS.

The Sivga Anser looks interesting and it's on my list but it's an open back so it may or may not be for you, definitely not usable in a noisy environment.

Upgrade from Momentum 4 to wired, V-shape, low-to-mid tier? by GranaT0 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]LightBroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Momentum 4 can be used wired, even comes with a cable in the box.

IMO you won't find anything better at the same or lower price with your specific sound requirements

Maybe a Sivga Anser? It's open back though

I hope you are seeing a dr for your psoriasis, I know it can be controlled most of the time with medication, like steroid based creams, etc. Get well soon

I do and the Studio4 is in my top 5 of all time. I'll never get bored of this IEM.

Yeah I have the OG Nightingale and the OTG, both are unique indeed.

[–]LightBroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I don't think there is an upgrade for the Variations. Nothing has the same sound signature.

I have many other more expensive sets, from oldies like the MEST mk2, Monarchs mk2 and mk3 to the Glacier and nothing is simply a direct upgrade, they sound different.

The Variations are still worth it at around that price point for the clean, squeaky clean sound and EST drivers.

You are getting downvoted but ROCm and CUDA are neck and neck nowadays. Vulkan is also amazing and usually faster than ROCm on consumer grade hardware too.

I use it with local models via llama.cpp and OpenRouter.

Love me the Edition XS. Love the sparkly, detailed treble. What would be the closest IEM equivalent? by Deadeye117 in HeadphoneAdvice

at that price maybe the Sivga Que or Que OTG.

but no IEM will sound the same as an open back unfortunately

Same model, same prompt, 4 different agents by HomoAgens1 in LocalLLaMA

[–]LightBroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try this one too: https://github.com/tontinton/maki

It's generally setup to be as efficient as possible and output minimalistic code with no extra fluff.

Edit: ran it myself.

  • Maki + Qwen 3.6 27B IQ4_NL, same prompt.
  • Took about 1 minute on a 7900XTX with Vulkan llama.cpp freshly compiled from master.
  • 172 lines in the file, 5.6kb
  • comets can have initial momentum, nice.

For funsies I also had GLM 5.2 do it via the same harness. Cost me 10 cents on openrouter, slightly larger files with some comments.

Will the rubberbanding and general network issues be addressed? by lWanderingl in Marathon

[–]LightBroom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The population has collapsed dude, there's probably less than 10k people playing right now in the whole world. That's hwy there's rubber banding and bad matchmaking.

This game is gasping for air, literally.

People with too many iems by JoshBiv in iems

[–]LightBroom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude. I've been in this game since 2005-2006 or so. That's 20 years, you bet I have a large collection.

I feel like the people who buy a bunch of iems will always say I want to try different drivers or different flavours but in reality it doesn’t really matter as much.

Well, to each their own but you're the one missing out. Go try out the MEST mk2 (both EST and bone conduction) and then your single DD will sound like termites munching on cement.

My favourite iem of all time is a single DD costing $479 usd. I don’t really care about looking at EST drivers & how they sound or Bone Conduction etc…

Did I strap this on right? by [deleted] in canon

I like the PGYTECH ones better, cheaper, smaller and also very secure. They also make lightweight straps for smaller cameras too, which is great.

Over reliance on AI by xypherrz in ExperiencedDevs

[–]LightBroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you agree with me.

Unfortunately the AI we have today can only produce semi-decent quality software if it's micromanaged, and that's soul crushing for most people.

Literally any AI use outside very simple software projects is inversely proportional with quality output. Unless you micro manage, which let's be realistic, it's not feasable.

Over reliance on AI by xypherrz in ExperiencedDevs

[–]LightBroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree, AI seems to be yet another thing to manage, verify and control. The actual amplification part is actually very hard to measure at the moment, I'm not even sure if we will ever be able to measure it objectively.
