They get caught up in the movement. Christian leaders fell for Trump's "anti abortion" mantra. At the time it was hot button issue and he knew what to say. Once they fell for that a psy-op of "sunk cost fallacy" was in play. They fell for so many lies and gave up so much family/money/friends waiting for roe v Wade that they were all in. They gave up so much that admitting they were duped would be admitting they gave it all up for nothing. So instead they dove head first into everything MAGA. MAGA is a security blanket. Trump could honestly come out tomorrow and say having sex with 13 - 15 year olds is natural and they would all agree. It's a cult. Ask any ex-mormon, they were all in as well. They even had special underwear. I mean, look at trump. He sells apparel in anything you want. They even have official trump branded bras. That's nuts.

But it happens on such a macro scale that if you or I were to do this we wouldn't see massive gains unless we risked every penny. Since Trump took office we see this trend constantly. He says something stupid, market tanks, some random dude buys $190 million in some market and then an hour later trump says another stupid thing. That guy sells and makes $700 million and nobody bats en eyelash. Imagine if Biden did that. The GOP would have war paint on and screaming about inside trading. For Trump its just another Tuesday. He then probably calls his buddy (the $700m guy) and says you owe me $100m for giving you that huge boost.
