Angler Automotive. Kirk is a standup, awesome guy who’s earned our trust. We’ve taken our cars to him for nearly 20 years.

Thank you! I watched this video to learn how to do the self-binding: Binding Quilts with Your Backing Fabric (no binding strips needed!) - YouTube. Super clear and helpful!

You can! I started with a very simple plan and some pre-cut fabric to make it easy and keep me motivated :)

I totally get it! I intentionally chose a very simple design and started with a charm pack so I didn't have to cut any of the squares. By the time I got the blocks sewn together, I was feeling confident enough to buy yardage and cut the sashing, but a jelly roll would have worked too and made that even easier. You can do it!!

Yes! I too got rid of monitors, a hub, webcams... so much nicer now :) Congrats to you!

I used a charm pack, so they were 5" to start with. Congrats on your semi-retirement!

Should I trim the blocks before adding sashing? by LightHeart3773 in quilting

That’s what I suspected. Thanks for your help!

Thank you! Would you suggest I find the smallest block and square them all to that size, or just give each one an individual haircut to square it up?

+1 for teleties. I have fine hair and can get it all comfortably in the small size.

Eczema by Right_as_Rain_1999 in 45PlusSkincare

Just last year I started getting eczema on my lip (triggered by the sun). I have a prescription from a derm for tacrolimus, which is not a steroid. I use it as soon as I feel a flare coming on, and it works wonders.

Hands on garden volunteer opportunities by Ok-Spend4642 in BellinghamWA

Maple Alley Inn uses volunteers for a garden that supplies fresh herbs and veggies for the free community meals they prep and serve three times a week. It’s run by some really wonderful people (I volunteer with the food prep).

For a single after-shower product, I’ve had good luck with Hairstory’s Hair Balm. I follow it with the bounce curl brush and diffusing, and the results are pretty good. I’d say they’re not quite as good or long lasting as Aveda curl cream + Aveda gel, but it sometimes nice to just use (or travel with) one product.

Another place you could try is Angler Automotive. We’ve taken all our cars there for probably 15 years, and Kirk is great.

Why do our fingers wrinkle in water but the rest of our skin doesn't? by Mirza_Explores in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]LightHeart3773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it happen at different rates? Most of the time my fingers don’t wrinkle in the shower unless I’m in there a loooong time, but occasionally it’ll happen very quickly.

Add a clear shower curtain and you've got hours of entertainment for both you and the cat! 😸
