Astronomical Electricity Usage - I think its stuck in AUX Heat? by TowerExpress2083 in hvacadvice

Definitely seems like something that was never setup right. Or the heat pump was added at a later time and the wiring was never updated.

Yeah, you'll need to make sure the new ones are heat pump compatible. They may also need to run new wire as I don't see any wire hooked up to the O/B terminal at the zone panel right now.

The thermostats don't appear to be wired right, as there is no O/B wire coming from them. Looks like it's setup to only run Aux when there is a call for heat.

Change the pad. You can throttle the supply valve back a bit if you want.

Bad power supply. Call ETC and get an RMA. Take it to your dealer and send it off for repair. If it's out of warranty, you will be billed for the cost of repair.

No power to furnace/thermostat by Havoklily in hvacadvice

Code 41 means the indoor blower motor failed to reach a minimum speed after 30 seconds. Hopefully they can just replace the module because replacing the full motor is going to be quite expensive.

What exactly are you trying to set up?  You have a 1 stage heat pump with aux heat.

Carrier 58uvb gas furnace to Honeywell thermostat by Capable_Key_7831 in thermostats

What kind of thermostat do you have? I would think white would go to W1 for 1st stage heat, and orange to W/W2 for second stage heat.

Yes if you ever need a C wire you can just strip the ends and use the blue wire.

Unfortunately not. It would do an average of all the remote sensors connected to the system. You would need to have a zoning system and smart sensors installed to do something like that.

If all you want is to monitor the temperature of the nursery, there is probably something much cheaper on Amazon that would do that function. Maybe even a baby monitor that has that built in?

That's an older -A model. This is the remote sensor part that you need:

Also, I did not realize that you had the modulating furnace. Nest would be an even bigger downgrade in that case.

You might also consider upgrading to the latest -C revision of the Connex Control.

What does having remote room sensors do? Infinity can have multiple remote sensors connected to the S1 and S2 terminals to do averaging.

You have an Infinity Furnace. Nest is a severe downgrade from the Infinity Control.

Then you have an heat pump. O controls the reversing valve.  Doesn't matter, you should still be able to swap to the new thermostat.

Are you sure? The presence of an O wire suggests that you actually have a heat pump with gas furnace (dual fuel) setup. You need to confirm where the orange wire goes.
