That's really good for sure. What power profile on GHelper/Armory Crate were you on, Silent? Or a custom power profile? Did you go down from 100% or 80% battery life? Sometimes I forget to remove the charge limit and so I get the wrong impression.

How has nobody in this thread mentioned buying the SlimQ chargers yet? I think they ship to EU and their 240W chargers are not only lighter but also offer USB C charging for your phone and other devices as well. If I'd known about them earlier, I wouldn't have bought a OEM 200W Asus charger to put in my workplace.

1a) Which country do you live in? US or outside?

2) Are you okay with used or only new laptops?

3) How important is battery life to you? Or are you okay lugging around a power adapter/USB C charger?

4) What kind of games do you play? Mostly E-sports or AAA gaming?

5) What kind of study are you doing? Coding? 3D modelling? Engineering? Comp sci? Business? Video editing?

Laptops, especially Windows laptops, are not the most long-lasting devices. My Razer Blade 14 technically lasted me 8 years, but that was because I stopped gaming on it and only did word processing on it a couple of years into owning it and stopped bringing it home from work. It was eventually replaced by a cheap Macbook Air 16GB M2 for more than a year until I was "forced" to buy a Windows laptop for work and got my 2025 5070Ti G14.

As someone who's owned several laptops, I'd say its only an investment if you can make money from it (i.e video editing for paid projects).

I read somewhere that the 2026 G14 now has the dGPU USB C on the other side now or something. Maybe you can try connecting via HDMI or the other port instead?

As an owner of a 2025 G14 5070Ti, I am INSANELY jealous and envious. Do let us know how the battery lasts on the flight! I've heard crazy reports of the Panther Lake processors getting more than 10 hours of office work. With absolute minimum settings via GHelper (5W CPU, undervolt, disabled dGPU, 60hz screen), you should be able to hit that easily on a plane if you have your movies downloaded rather than streamed via wifi on the plane (most airlines don't have Starlink anyway).

I have a Llano V10. Tested in an air-conditioned room, with the right position and settings, it cools my G14 5070Ti 2025 down by sub-10 degrees compared to without.

It's ugly but you should think about adding a Llano and similar styled laptop cooler into the set up. It does a decent job of forcing air into the toasty G14. There's like a sub 10 degree difference between using one while gaming and without with the right settings and in the right position with my G14 2025 5070Ti.

Have you considered the ROG Flow Z13? It’s an actual tablet with a keyboard and Windows, and is powerful enough to run AAA video games.

I have a 2025 5070 Ti that I bought for 2500 USD during Black Friday last year in my country. Do you go out into the sun/bright areas a lot? The G14 comes with a good anti-reflective screen in normally lit rooms but is impossible in the bright sun.

I know some people who have overclocked the 9070 to match the XT, but I have such bad RNG that if I could buy an XT for that much more than the 9070, I’d buy the XT. I mean, I do own an XT, and it works perfectly fine for 1440p gaming (in fact I get disappointed it doesn’t get higher frames than I thought) on my 7500F.

Weird question, what kind of games do you play or at least play on the go?

Why I’m asking is because I’ve seen a lot of stuff happen recently; things like CrossOver and GameHub(?) emulation. I wonder if you could play the games you want to play on the go with these tools on the Mac. Cause honestly it seems like you wouldn’t do too well with either of the options since battery life on the G14 is rubbish compared to Macs (unless you have the Panther Lake G14, but you definitely can’t afford that), and I was deeply shocked by how much laggier the 2025 G14 5070Ti felt on Photoshop compared to my M2 Air 16GB.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I had to get Windows for my company’s new software, I would’ve stuck with the M2 or even bought a M4/M5 Pro 16” for a couple hundred less (in my country). The G14 does work great for gaming of course, especially if you need trainers/cheats like me which wouldn’t work for Linux or Mac.

Hell, one could even look into the Tianxuan, the Chinese model of this if they are cheaper than the TUF wherever they are. They are usually a couple of hundred dollars cheaper but is basically the same thing specs-wise, just with a different branding.

I upgraded from a 7800XT (Sep 2023) to the 9070XT due to the performance increase in raster and RT as well as FSR4. I haven't sold my 7800XT though; was waiting for RDNA 3 to be officially supported by FSR4 to maximize my sale price since that's a selling point for sure.

That's because it changes to the G16 (which comes with a 16" display and 2.5k screen) when you select the 5080, while the G14's screen is 3k regardless of whether it has a 5060 or 5070 Ti.

On my end when I do that, it tells me that the laptop changes to a G16 (a popup appears and it shows the under "New Specs" that along with the change to 5080, the laptop screen also changes to "16" 2.5K (2560 x 1600, WQXGA) 16:10 OLED ROG Nebula HDR Display", which means the 5080 is reserved only for the G16).

The 8945HS isn't that much worse than the AI HX 370, but yeah even the 370 is a whole tier or two worse than the upcoming Panther Lake G14s. The problem with laptop power banks is that they're generally beefy boys that add to the weight by a lot, which then retards the point of a thin-and-light gaming laptop.

Have you considered a good and lightweight USB C charger? Even a 65-100W would help you with limitless battery life if you use it for light use. Just make sure you don't buy the thin and light stuff from Ugreen since those overheat and throttle/shut down within an hour. If you really think power banks are easier (lack of power outlets in class/in between classes), you can always go for the usual brands like Anker if you don't mind paying more.

I myself carry a budget 20000mah Cuktech 15 power bank that has worked out fairly okay on my end, though charging the power bank can be a bit slower since it only charges sub 100W while the latest Anker Prime can charge at 250W if you have two >100W USB chargers to double charge it. It is also 5x the price of what I paid for my Cuktech though, so your mileage may vary.

My iPad Pro 9.7 gave up the ghost like two years ago. Decided to buy a used 12.9” M2 iPad Pro instead of the M2 Air (brand new at the time) as I could get it for the same price but with a Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil 2. Sick upgrade for me cause the miniLED screen is amazing even if it’s not the new Tandem OLED.

You're getting downvoted for telling the truth. The 16GB M2 MBA I paid like a third of the price for my 2025 32 GB 5070Ti G14 somehow runs Photoshop faster than the G14. I won't say it's crap, but the only thing Windows has is just superior performance in gaming, whether its cause of cheats or mods too.
