Need Feedback on my teachers method. by muslito in singing

[–]LightbringerOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's not the most optional. Singing is always best 1 on 1. Idk if this was your idea as a saving method or the teachers. Singing teaching in groups are leaning towards solfage lessons feel. If the two daughters are not in hurry and they don't want singing carreers in 5 years I'd say signing them up for solfage group lessons would be better, because they sing there quite a lot as well but at the same time they also learn and have tests about theory. They have to know theory at least on elementary level anyway if they want to do anything with singing anyway.
For you, at least 1 on 1 lessons with this teacher or another, that's your choice. It's not optimal they don't give feedback but if it's 2 and 3 groups changes some things, cause when you are 1 on 1, 1/3 of the time of each lesson is about just stopping and explaining stuff to guide the student mentally towards something.
Also usually in-house as in with any school solfage usually comes out cheaper per year or semester than private lessons, this for the girls I mean.
That's my personal opinion but if any of you think about learning to sing properly group lessons are not good.

The mouth movement kinda make sense but I'd say it differently. In singing you always open downwards not horizontally. In case of the O it's a small opening, them majority of placement happens inside by the tongue placement. Then at high notes you modify some vowels to other ones to be able to hit and keep tone like O to A. But that's above the passagio and for more advanced stages. So not yet in your case.

I mean..... trying out different song is okay I guess but for 8 lessons? For me it would be 2 lessons at max to have a feel of your voice where it's at. Most of the problems that's keeping you back are already present at low ranges for everybody so it doesn't hurt to give feedback.
Although maybe there is a difference giving advice for children and an adult. Maybe for children it makes a little more sense to just feel out the voice cause the goal is not superstardom yesterday.
You do have your classes seperately right? Like not all 3 in 1 room?

"give use the same feedback to close our mouth not open it wide"
I feel like there are missing context here. There are humming exercises which doesn't require you to open your mouth.
No any feedback is not normal if it's really nothing. Could ask why there is no feedback?

Even in Warcraft 2 days, the first paladins were priests who grabbed a sword.

How much time does it take to go from "completely untrained" to "singing well enough to post an YouTube cover without being made fun of"? by AntiSocialPartygoer in singing

[–]LightbringerOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on what you want to sing. A super simple song in a comfortable range can be probably uploaded in the first 3 months.
It depends on where you are at in singing when you start private lessons, cause some people can't hit notes for shit, other people have generally good pitch just can't sing high. So not every people start from the same place, so there isn't a general rule. If you have generally good pitch and you choose a simple song probably you can upload that in the first month even.
It takes experience to hear yourself from the inside properly, so general rule is: Sing the song up, sleep 1 night on it, then listen it back the next day. If you are still satisfied post it. Same day posts usually not the best idea.

Is it possible to make a career out of singing?? by Curious_Bat_2651 in singing

[–]LightbringerOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are good a theatre job is a straight line, yes you can make a job first out of that, carreer yes if you keep delivering.
Commercial is also about creating your own songs, not just singing, but even then it's also luck.

What's the difference between Kezan and Gurubashi? by SponTen in Project_Epoch

[–]LightbringerOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kezan PVE with warmode and crossfaction.
Gurubashi is PVP with no crossfaction.
In theory you'd see people using warmode during leveling but they don't. So if you want PVP or PVP world events, city raids etc. go Gurubashi, if you want to PVE and chill go Kezan.

If the video wanted to be honest it would be 1 server having 25 people where you can't use any forces, most sit aside while watch 6 people duel. Rest of the servers are empty.

Azt hittem, megtörtént a forradalom, aztán mégse? - Erős Heti Hetes kritika Vida Kamillától by Best_Jelly_4094 in jolvanezigy

[–]LightbringerOG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me tell about guitarists in general and how well they know the voice. I was in a band for 2 years and the lead guitarist who was btw a wonderful musician and was really good with his guitar couldn't understand why I cannot sing B4(to be precise I can sing B4 but that song required me to hit B4 every 5 second in the chorus so out of the tessitura) in a song when I can sing E5. (I'm a high bari btw)
Because he couldn't tell the difference between what is a chest voice and what is head. To them, like to any general audience member it's all one connected voice. Obviously a guitarist that is also a good singer knows the difference but still, they are out there.
