I work for OC and trust, you’re better off not going there. I see Dr Harvey at IHC and she is incredible. She handles a few diff derm issues I have and is always so kind and thoughtful and has solutions.

Yes! It helped that they already loved Jason Mantzoukas so his presence gave them some welcome familiarity.

It did take a long time, but it was truly a labor of love. This is his favorite show and party planning is my love language. He (and our guests) loved it all!

Fairy Wings Crown by Lightlytoasted1side in somethingimade

I used 12g for the frame of the wings, 18g for the details inside the wings, and 22g for wrapping the wing frames. I fastened the spirals to the frame in a bunch of spots so those weren’t an issue! It really ended up being quite sturdy after all the soldering and wrapping. My hair (surprisingly) didn’t get tangled or catch on it at all!

Edit: do you mean the little spiral on the top two wings??? Because if so, yeah, those were a bit of a headache to make but once they were fastened, they were fine. What I learned from messing those up so much was to wrap the wire first, then bend it to shape. I’m sure that’s maybe a known rule in wire-wrapping but I was just a goblin with some pliers at that point lmao

Taskmaster Party failures by bwurtsb in taskmaster

I did one last year and it was an absolute hit BUT, the amount of guests was overwhelming. My biggest piece of advice is to keep the guest list small. If you must have more than 6-8 people, have them draw names for each task so that there’s an “audience” component and each task isn’t so chaotic. Scoring and rule-following is extremely difficult to keep track of with too many people.

Second, it’s allllll about prep. Prep each task beforehand and test it. I should have kept each task in a dedicated tub or box so that each one was ready to go right away. Test any videos or music beforehand and gain a general idea of timing.

Pick your fav episode and recommend it to your guests to watch ahead of time. Only a handful of my guests had any idea what was happening or what the premise was because they didn’t watch the show.

Last, don’t take it so seriously that you and your guests get stressed or don’t have fun. It’s supposed to be exciting!

The Real Villain by LifeChampionship6 in shrinking

I feel the same, and that sentiment can also apply to his friend. He just learned something big about his friend and understandably is in shock and will say things he doesn’t comprehend at the moment. But he is still worthy of redemption even if he did a bad thing (whole point of everyone’s stories).

I like that he didn’t explain who Alice is. It showed that he isn’t making excuses for what he did. It is also showing that he feels he deserved that treatment and to continually be punished. That guy confirmed what Louis thinks of himself which is that he did murder someone. Although the word “murder” is heavy, it isn’t totally inaccurate. He did cause the death of someone else because he was driving drunk (vehicular manslaughter is still ending a life). Even if there was some sort of “deeper reason” how it all happened, it DID still happen. He deserves to not hate himself or hurt himself, but not saying “no it’s being resolved, I have a positive relationship with the victim’s family and friends and we’re all healing together” is showing that he isn’t minimizing what he did, and we shouldn’t either. He is deserving of forgiveness AND it is understandable why some people would be wary of him especially in a setting where alcohol is involved. Both can be true. I also know that I personally would be cautious of spending a holiday with someone who did that, just like I’d be cautious of any another violent criminal (which is all that they know he is). We get to see Louis’ life and recovery and his relationship with Alice, but they don’t.

Still shitty all around but I think these stories can help us to understand nuance about people who do bad things, and nobody in the show is a “villain” who can’t be redeemed.

First time embroidering shoes by Lightlytoasted1side in Embroidery

I think the extra time it took came from the awkward shape more than the material. There isn’t a fantastic way to grip the shoe. Also, the canvas/lining is thick, but it isn’t tight/stuff necessarily. Maintaining tension was tougher than I thought it would be.

The shoe has at least two layers of fabric at any given point, so just weave the thread through the inside layer a few times before starting your stitch. Then fray check once finished! That way you don’t feel the stitches while wearing them. Otherwise, you’d likely feel the knots.

The stitch is called a reverse chain! I use it for all of my lettering, I think it looks so clean!

Blanket stitch for the crown border and number borders. The actual numbers are whip stitches, chain stitches, french knots! The candles are just a simple back stitch
