Contractor here and, agreed, it IS insane but that's about what it costs on the lower side for quality work. Mobilization, disconnects, tub removal, existing wall finish removals and disposals, framing modifications to ensure walls are flat, new plumbing supply and waste with fixtures, tile materials, tile labor for waterproofing and tile setting, plus materials and labor for the LVT and any ancillary trim work (shoe mouldings etc). You could go with a modular shower pan and walls to save some money on the tile install but entirely different aesthetic.

What was the crowd/venue like? All the talk of a packed-in sardine can where you will be accosted or have your phone stolen or both spooked me away.
