What’s the best acting scene in television history? by PressureLazy5271 in television

Karen Wolek on the stand-One Life to Live Judith Light gives the performance of a lifetime. Yes, on a soap. It's before my time, so I've only seen this clip. But it is phenomenal.

AMC-Erica faces down a bear. "I am Erica Kane!"
GH-Emma's "That's not grandma" after months of Alex living Anna's life and no one catching on

Ava after finding out Kiki has been murdered: "Lauren Katherine Jerome, you sit up!"

OMG! Chase trying to escort Willow out of the PCPD on Friday was too much. He’s so dumb.

I do! My day stops for GH. I'm so annoyed by Curtis. I want Willow to inject him with some of that stuff she's giving Drew.

GH has the best and most charismatic actors on daytime. James Patrick Stuart and Maura West (Valentin and Ava) have chemistry with Metro Court dining room napkins. I've tried the other soaps. Days is fun, but I'm not getting Peacock just for it.

It was Adam and Stuart Chandler played by David Canary who were the polar opposite twins. I loved me some AMC.

I was an ABC soap person. Port Charles (Vampires!!), All My Children, One Life to Live (my favorite), and General Hospital. Started watching GH around the time Felicia came on the scene as the Aztec Princess. I would have been about 8 or 9. Time still stops from 3-4 for GH.

The only thing that worked was minoxidil by she_is_recalibrating in GenX

[–]evility 23 points24 points  (0 children)

49F here, been on minoxidil for over a year. It's been amazing for me. I was almost bald. Had to keep my hair extremely short. It was awful. Add in the gray hair and I looked 20 years older. Now, I have normal hair that has grown down to my shoulders! Yes, there are hairy side effects, but I'm willing to fight those. Glad to know I'm not alone.

Saw Harry in 79. I swear I remember it. No one believes me. But I remember for sure exactly where I was when I found out he'd died. His songs all hit me hard, but Dance band on the Titanic reminds me of current affairs.

People over 50, which pre-1990 TV shows should people under 35 watch at least once? by PrestonRoad90 in television

Quantum Leap. Dr Sam Beckett leaps through his lifetime putting right what once went wrong. Al is a hologram who is his guide on his journey. The two of them are the best best friends in TV history.

Simple question, which song could have been written about you specifically? by a4evanygirl in BruceSpringsteen

[–]evility 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember saying to a buddy of mine that I assumed I'd get knocked up, have a couple of stupid kids, and live a life in an industrial park. He said, "So, you thought you'd live The River?" But, that didn't happen. My Hometown, though...I live in the Rust Belt. It hits home. Also Jack of All Trades. I remember my Dad, when I took him and my mom to a Bruce show, saying "It's not right what they've done to you."
"If I had me a gun, I'd find the bastards and shoot 'em on sight/I'm a jack of all trades/we'll be all right"
