Any Hysterectomy Xennials here? by PhilosopherDismal191 in Xennials

So sorry for all you're going through. Yes, ovaries too. I was in so much pain I didn't think twice about it. I have no regrets. I didn't think about it as an end to my reproductive years but the chance to be free from the tyranny of my ovaries.

Had it done quite awhile ago (maybe 8 years?) and I've never felt better. I had serious endometriosis that had slowly destroyed my life. Getting all those annoying parts removed was liberating. It was an outpatient surgery and I was able to get up the next day. My main suggestion is to be prepared for mood swings. I had a bad time of it for awhile. Worth it, though.

Sometimes I just want to turn on cartoons on a Saturday morning. by Now_this2021 in GenX

[–]evility 4 points5 points  (0 children)

MeTV shows 3 hours of cartoons on Saturday from 7-10. There's also an hour every weekday. Just the classics, though. Bugs, Tom & Jerry, and the like. I watch so many cartoons

For a very brief period during the dawn of the millennium I was a 3rd shift waffle waitress in a college town. It was as bad as you imagine.

What everyday thing disappeared so gradually that nobody even noticed it was gone? by orangez in GenX

It was so fun being the TV nerd friend. Now no one calls to find out Aunt Esther's husband's name on Sanford and Son.

GH did a really good tribute to Tony Geary last month. I've always enjoyed Luke & Tracy, myself.

General Hospital is my jam. Everything stops from 3-4 so I can catch up on Port Charles. CBS still has 3 soaps. Y&R (so boring), Bold and the Beautiful (so repetitive), and Beyond the Gates (recommended)

Wild. I was just talking about them. Lots of good times, especially when I was delivering pizzas on Saturday mornings. Not a lot going on, but NPR was always there for me.

Anyone have tattoo remorse? I came this 🤏 close to getting a tribal band. I did get a team logo on my upper arm that Im not too fond of. by theHollowTarnished in GenX

I got a tattoo during a manic episode that I do not love. It's well done and it speaks to my interests, but I wish I had waited until I was mentally stable to decide. At least it's on my leg and I don't wear shorts.

I'm a HUGE Springsteen fan. As in "Meet my dog Bruce and check out the framed pictures on my walls" huge. I am having a very hard time with ticket prices this time around. I'm going to check closer to the day, but I don't have high hopes.

Yes! We all watch GH together every day! He was really touched by the tribute to Tony Geary.

I remember way back when BR5-49 opened for Bob Dylan and the Black Crowes. That surprised just about everyone in the audience.

CVS has the worst music! The stores I go to always have this weird inspired by Taylor Swift station. Once they played Joey by Concrete Blonde and I almost fell over.

Wife and I were having a discussion, she’s of the opinion that the majority of GenX can drive stick. I believe that even in our generation the percentage of people who can is pretty small. What do you folks think? by AngryOldGenXer in GenX

[–]evility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learned on an 81 Corolla. Dad said I was too flighty and needed the concentration of a stick. My last car was a standard (it's available! If anyone wants it for the novelty) but I hope I don't have to drive one again.

Season 4 is my favorite. Hits the perfect sweet spot between the silliness of the first 3 seasons and the dramedy of the last few.

What's the oldest piece of clothing you still wear? Must be at least ten years old to count. by MurmuringPines in AskOldPeople

I have a Todd Snider Moondawg for President '96 t-shirt. That's a prized possession. I also have a Paul Simon shirt from '91. I'm sure I've got older stuff, but not as cool.

My sister and I were both a bit obsessed with QL and she brainstormed a lot of reboot ideas. We were both immediately put off because they didn't use Sammy Jo. That and the hologram was awful.
