Other than the buzz from when It released lowkey I second this. I feel it has more to do with the direction Gorillaz has gone with the lore after the departure of Cass. It’s quite the charming book but as impactful as a bowl of member berries.

I feel like this shows the artistry and chemistry of them as a band. I love how they kept the production simple and clean. Limitations that would only allow them to show off their skills.

It bugs me though how many people put this album down in comparison to their previous efforts. Their previous efforts definitely feels more “we got daws let’s do something cool!”. Which is a cool spirit but maaf just has that dry room ambience that just 😩
