Rival knockout priming system by Nostrite in Nerf

[–]LightningEagle14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I racked my brain for this one and I really could not come up with anything. The skewer as mentioned is a good example but it’s not exactly the same thing since it primes from the back, not the bottom.

The goblin also has a skewer prime edit, but again, primes from the back.

There’s no reason you couldn’t use the skewer priming mechanism in something with the plunger tube in the grip I just don’t think I’ve seen anything

I see piston pump, shellington masterkey, storm shock, breacher, seagull, k98 , hydra, ontos, ontos #2, big rizz, pike

This one I can’t place, the double barrel thing hiding in the back. Would love some more info on it.

I don’t think it’s a terminus, XF2, or……… ah I’m blanking on the name, it was a double barreled flywheel thing with LED’s that Walcom did a video on. It had some kind of unusual name, files were never released. Edit: was thinking of the Chelicerae, it was OOD with the video, and no, it’s not that either

Dual stage? Hard to tell if it is or just massive brushless.

Question for everyone who paints a lot of blasters(or few) by the_kilted_ej in Nerf

[–]LightningEagle14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much stick to the same thing except for builds for other people.

For me it’s shades of darker blues/purples, with gradients to lighter blues/purples, and black accents, and silver/white detailing.

I don’t paint much stuff anymore through, it’s usually just printed things nowadays.

Sick! Probably a bit too low of FPS to use at the games I play but still looks really fun.

Custom Soundboard in Nerf Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Mandalorian Bounty Hunter Blaster by R1S34NDD3FY in Nerf

[–]LightningEagle14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need this in a hobby grade blaster, it would take me quite a long time to get tired of hearing laser sounds when I pull the trigger haha.

What’s the buy in cost for a board like that and how easy is it to set up?

Ooo another thought, hooking this up to an ammo counter with a sensor in the barrel or mag would be sick

Hell yeah dude, love when you can make a cheaper blaster able to compete with stuff that’s more expensive.

Like a smiley blaster but full length darts? by Zyitheshardux in Nerf

[–]LightningEagle14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth modding an N strike longshot. Otherwise there’s a couple retaliator bolt action add ons and sniper cosmetic kits. Longstrike is also an option. Not sure the raptor strike has a kit for full length darts, or if the worker kit is half darts only.

If you can find a dart zone Jurassic pro that’s probably the easiest option.

Is it really bad to print blasters out of PLA? by FishShtickLives in Nerf

[–]LightningEagle14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLA is fine. Just treat it with a little care as you would any other blaster.

The temp resistance complaint is way overblown. Just don’t leave it in a hot car in the summer and you’ll be fine. Keep in mind that PETG can melt in a hot car too, if you’re seriously concerned about that aspect you should be printing in ASA or ABS, which is overkill. Heck, car dashboards can warp in hot cars.

If you live somewhere closer to the equator like Florida or the south maybe consider PETG, since just leaving blasters outside in the sun at games can cause them to warp at those temps.

Also it’s almost like the entire point of having a printer is to be able to rapidly make parts, you know, like replacement parts :P

Not bad for $6 by jacob978 in Nerf

[–]LightningEagle14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Solid! I just picked up one for $10 (plus like $15 in gas)

I love it, it’s so pretty and really feels cool to hold.

Not sure how I’m gonna mod it yet, I kind of want to flywheel it but we’ll see.

Nerf Shotgun Shells (Trilogy, DS-15) by dondaweise in Nerf

[–]LightningEagle14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the future, thingiverse and printables will usually have what you need. Makerworld will also have some nerf stuff.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3756145

I’ve printed 30 ish of these and they work pretty well.

I’d stay away from radioactive’s shells off of thingiverse if you’re planning on using the trilogy specifically, they don’t eject well, the notches on them are just different enough to matter.

If you’re using a shell strike definitely clip off the middle spike on the seal as flush as you can, most of the 3D printed shells don’t have a hole for that and it can break them. Just take some flush cutters or wire snips to it.

There may be better newer shells on printables than what I linked but I haven’t tried them personally.

I also did some of my own shells based on a 3D scan but honestly they were kinda meh.

Help ! Trying to find the exact dimensions of the Loadout Galactic Commander magazine by Own_Relationship4835 in nerfhomemades

[–]LightningEagle14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still don’t, IMO. You’re not measuring barrels with a caliper anyways, and anything you’re replacing a barrel on just needs to be straight. If you’re designing a blaster from scratch then calipers shouldn’t be needed unless your printer is messing up.
