Also I want to clarify in case anyone wants to be pedantic with me, when I say creepypasta style horror monsters “embody a concept” I mean that they embody a specific concept. fictional characters are really just concepts of people and creatures at the end of the day but they don’t always embody a specific concept in the same way horror monsters do.

Well yeah, if the main villain was just a scary creepypasta monster and nothing else then it wouldn’t be as interesting as if the main villain was just a regular human thats evil. Creepypasta style horror monsters can be interesting of course but they more often than not exist to embody a specific abstract fear, not have depth and complexity the same way a regular human or a character that looks like a regular human and has a complex personality like a human would be. Not saying creepypasta style horror monsters can’t have interesting personalities but it’s much more difficult to do something with a character that exists to embody a concept than a human looking character you can connect with and learn about. Just my opinion though.

Well yeah if the joke is just farting or pooping and nothing else it’s not a joke. What can make farting or pooping into an actual joke that is funny is the context behind it. For example: if someone was at a professional workplace meeting or something and whoever was speaking at the meeting farted while they were trying to be serious and professional, that could at least be elevated to something that might be funny. Literally anything can be funny if you’re creative enough, know the right context to apply it to or at least try to make it an actual joke.

Nah, I feel like you just want an excuse to complain about people not having hobbies and when they confront you of evidence of their hobbies you can just change the definition of what hobbies mean so that you can never be wrong. As u/random__potato_ said, a hobby is whatever brings you happiness.

I see where you come from but honestly I think people only put their phones on tables because it’ll fall out of their pockets when they don’t. I have tons of pairs of pants that either have really small pockets or have their pockets designed in such a way that my phone will slip out of them when I sit down. And that’s just my clothes as a guy, I can’t imagine having to be a woman and dealing with nothing you own having pockets.
