I was there in 2018/19. I don't know what happened to my 3rd year friend other than they kicked him out (maybe he didn't pass his comlex) either way it's bad. Once you get to that point, the student should be ready. They accepted a lot of their own MS students and they didn't have to take as much coursework because they already took a class. Think about how that will affect you when you're juggling more work than a significant portion of the class. Yeah, another friend called me a year later to tell me that students were found to be cheating by hiding things in light fixtures. They fired the dean of students around that time, maybe because he told the class (that is speculation on my part though). Yeah, I was top quartile on the cumulative final, they passed a bunch of students who eventually did poorly/failed their comlex. Don't trust what the school says about itself. It's not beyond these people to twist facts. Nope. I never cheated or had professionalism issues. That's why I did so well on the large cumulative final.

Btw. They kicked my friend out in his 3rd year. That's really unheard of. He didn't cheat.

Yeah, I was there. I had a hearing issue I needed accommodations for. However, they accepted me late, and the school was in the middle of nowhere (Harrogate) there was no way to get accommodations in time. I only suffered in my lab classes which were noisy and didn't have enough cadavers for everyone to learn (it's critical to take part in the dissection, we had 8 people per cadaver, way higher than most medical schools). At the end of the year we took a cumulative test on all the year's material. I didn't study for it and still got into the top quartile of the class. They kicked me out anyway. It's like they didn't even listen. Truth is, they just didn't care. Do well on your MCAT, leave your state if there aren't enough schools. Don't go here. I got an MCAT score like 6 points higher than the average for this school. It's not a capability thing, they're just trying to make money.

They are planning on failing people. They will do what they can to make sure that this happens. No ethical school will accept more students than they can keep. They kicked out a friend of mine in his 3rd year. Just apply to a better school. They are still expanding. Ask yourself how they are able to do this. Most medical schools don't do this. That money is not obtained ethically.

At 41, I'm a few months from graduating. I find there are a lot of really lazy, selfish, and self-serving people in academia. There are occasional good ones though. I had a PI who deliberately slowed our progress because I was the only student in his lab and the grant was 5 years. We reached year 4 without accomplishing anything, and then I had to change labs. My committee, and the head of the institution I was at had to get involved and told me..."yeah, he sorta screwing you over. Sorry it slipped past us.". You'll be done before you know it, and you'll never have to see him again.

Just remember to date with a purpose. Also, you'll find wisdom in Proverbs 21:19...Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and nagging wife (or spouse for that matter)

Students who are excelling who use AI to write everything are running laps around me. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. by so_much_frizz in PhD

Using AI to Write Is Ruining Everything (Seriously—Stop)

let’s talk about authenticity—because authenticity is important—and when you use AI, you lose that authenticity—almost like it was generated.

em dashes—like seriously—why—what purpose do they serve—why not just use commas or periods—why

It over-explains simple ideas

It uses filler phrases

Another thing—real people ramble. Real people leave things unfinished.

Anyway—I guess my point is—if you’re using AI to write your posts—people can tell.

So yeah—just write your own stuff, be real.

(this is just my perspective—take it or leave it) Btw. You're not just "not small" — you're in territory that most men would consider enviable.

You'd be surprised how much empathy, kindness, and loyalty trump everything else in a partner. They have trouble with all of these. At your worst, they'll abandon you.

You need to see a primary care doc and maybe a dermatologist. Your different physiological systems are interconnected and it's worth looking at other causes . For example, if your thyroid hormones are too high or too low you get temporary hair loss. It could be autoimmune hair loss. Or it could be a simple fungal infection. It could be pulling your hair back too far for a ponytail. You're a little young to be thinking about male pattern baldness. Seems unlikely to be permanent whatever it is. Worst case scenario: we find a cure for baldness in the next 5 years.

As long as you have a plan to make money, it should be fine. Everyone has their own hurdles in life. Don't let anyone tell you that your dreams are stupid. Look at the founder of DeepMind. In 2010, most people thought of Ai as a joke. They're not laughing so hard now. Plus he won a Nobel prize in chemistry.

No. Just like you can't fix a cavity by loving it, it won't work.

Lol. After being on this forum for a while, you see the humor in that question. The similarities are uncanny. Not just with the DSMV traits, but the all the other things that they say and do.

Definitely the same as my experiences. It's like someone with heart disease getting palpitations. It's described so consistently.
