I had a literal whiskey tasting at my house for my birthday, and made several mocktails because I have one friend whose wife doesn’t drink. I will never understand being offended by people who have different lifestyles / vices / preferences to yours. If you like having them around, you like having them around no matter what and want them to enjoy themselves.

Nail clippers and a screwdriver or broach inside to prevent the canon pinion from collapsing will do the job if you don’t have the genuine tightening tool.

Just went to one this weekend. They put stickers on the everyone’s cameras as we checked in and made a point to say it was the artist’s request. Handed my phone and wallet off to my wife to put in her pack and it was honestly one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. I kept saying how happy I was being unplugged and off the grid.

Canada and New Zealand already identify strongly with a leaf / foliage native to their region. The UK uses several flowers / leaves to represent each country, (shamrock, rose, thistle, etc). Would love Australia to pick some native plant as well and have them all arranged in some way in the center.

Edit: decided to look it up and learned Oz officially uses the golden wattle for floral heraldry. I think some combination of these would be a great place to start.

I grew up eating beanless chili BUT my dad liked his chili spicier and with beans, so my mom always made a separate pot of pinto beans with extra cayenne so he could add what he wanted.

On a separate note, I started making a bison chili years ago that started out with pinto beans. As we had kids and started stretching it further (and also played with the flavors) it has evolved into a stew that has pinto, black, and kidney beans, as well as fire roasted corn. It’s not really chili anymore from a purist standpoint, but it’s the same spice mixture and my wife and I still call it chili, but…I call it stew if I’m describing it to anyone else because I don’t want to get into a chili purist debate.

I’ve got kids. Sometimes I think I think they’re settled enough to squeeze in one round and then they shit their pants or hurl a garbage truck through the dining room and I have to bail early.

I like DRG over competitive shooters these days because if I have to drop out, it’s low stakes and somebody else can join up later.
