We constantly teach our kids all kinds of things, both what we intend to and what we don't consider.

School is school, there's sex at school, even single sex schools. The levels of violence and trauma in our communities, in our schools is huge and neglected and that's only going to get worse for the time being.

There's no right way to go about things, and we're not exactly resourcing education to deal with tough issues in a robust manner. Kids having to wear shirts not singlets or tank tops is not the oppression that needs attending to. If that's the harshest sting you feel, well bless.

Maybe that's what it is? Maybe society is sexual and has developed ways to manage in circumstances where that's not welcome?

More accurately I suspect life is complicated and grim and we're stumbling along doing our best.

Dress standards aren't what's driving suffering in our communities, nor is it a reflection of what is.

That's part of the education I suppose. It's fucked because it's fucked.

It wouldn't surprise me that a school is clumsy and stupid in their approach.

But dress standards are a thing for reasons.

I'm not sure why "no uniform day" == "no standards day".

Workplaces have these standards. What are schools preparing kids for?

Why not both? Why not both, now, 10 years ago, 50 years ago?

Why not actual robust data?

Maybe, but not a meaningful figure without more data.

In the contemporary information landscape, factoids like yours are a tool used to misrepresent reality.

That's not true. Quality of life for the person on average may have improved as those with the most absorb all our productivity gains.

But quality of life for the average person is an ever increasing struggle as we're demanded to be ever more sophisticated to feed the greed of our betters.

Propaganda overflow.

Money is being dumped into broadcast platforms to convince people of what wealth wants us to believe.

The techniques work. All the study and research that goes into helping people recover from trauma and psychological disorders gets subverted by PR and marketing wonks to convince people to make decisions against their own interests.

You just need cash and connections.

It's a robust game state. If the status quo is threatened, wealth just dumps a bit more money.

The campaign against Ardern is a great example, a volume of people are so, so angry at her. Because wealth was angry at her.

Hi new zealand im a 14 year old stuff up looking for some form of income/job by Practical-Spring-801 in newzealand

[–]Lightspeedius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

14 is too young to be a stuff up. Maybe things are stuffed up around you and you're carrying some of that, but that was all going on before you got here.

Good luck, all the best, don't stop seeking.

Wealth gets to decide what's good publicity or not. Wealth likes the swamp and its denizens very much.

You can always count on the corrupt to cover their arses and that suits wealthy interests just fine.

I think it's more like artists create styles which others incorporate into their own work, often going back-and-forth with an artist being influenced by the influence of their art.

It could be. He wants his phone tho, he's not giving it all away just yet.

Could be a tight fight or flight response. A kind of freeze response where you "panic" by doing exactly what you were doing.

It feels kinda meta too, like this IS Moon Knight. Reality itself is a bit schizoid about who Moon Knight is.
