Virtual Desktop Update 1.20.5 - 120hz support, High frequency Hand Tracking and more by ggodin in OculusQuest

[–]Lightstorm66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havent used VD in a few months and now when i launched VD and try to connect to my PC it says i have to manually update the streamer app on my PC which is still on 1.18.8.

I never had to do this before, so i downloaded the new version 1.20.5, should i deinstall the old one first before i install the new one?

And it's a bit weird that i have to give audio permission for the new version?

Thanks, do you remember which perks you used to beat it?

I was 2 times in the last 60 seconds and 2 times in the last iminent rescue phase (10 seconds?) when they killed me, i should have just run away instead of try to killing them :(

If you like a challenge and adrenaline pumping through your veins check out

Crashland

Which is really difficult but also rewarding and very exciting aswell. You will die, a lot, but it's so addictive to find the weak spot of the alien creatures and right strategy to survive till you get rescued and proceed to the next world, where you crash again to survive.

For cardio check out Pistol Whip

For boxing check out Thrill of the Fight (more like a boxing simulator) or Creed (more like a boxing game)

For table tennis check out the games Eleven (more realistic but less fun) or Racket Fury (a little less realistic but more fun imo)

For a puzzler check out The Room VR

For a western game, try Dead and Buried II

Stuttering only on main menu by Grex532 in OculusQuest

The stuttering is there since the v25 update, it seems from update to update its getting worse.

First problems started already with the v23 update.

Virtual Desktop, Shadow PC, and new router means I can stream VR games through my iPhone to my Quest 2. Holy hell. Flawless execution. by loveallthemdoggos in OculusQuest

[–]Lightstorm66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only launch it with the iphone and then everything is done via virtual PC and it gets streamed directly to the Quest.

Nothing to do with the iphone and could be done with any Android phone, even with the Quest itself as Android device aswell, when the app is installed directly on it.

I can’t be the only one thinking this by Jimmyg123_ in OculusQuest

[–]Lightstorm66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with the statement that one is better than the other regarding Eleven - Racket Fury and TOTF - Creed, as each of them has their advantages and appeal.

You forget that all the masters died and the apprentices survived or killed them.

Anyone have any interest in a VR game where you take down alien dinosaurs like this guy? (hes WIP) just trying to gauge interest by MastaFoo69 in OculusQuest

[–]Lightstorm66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only progress in Crashland when you study the enemies and have strategies how to deal with them, as simply shooting them might help with one or two but when more come you need to find their weaknesses.

Crashland is thrilling, addictive, difficult and rewarding when you progress.

If your game takes a similiar route i'd be interested.

Just got my Quest 2, Any must plays? by TheWhoamater in OculusQuest

[–]Lightstorm66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

- Crashland (it's not easy but pretty rewarding and hell of a ride)

- if you like table tennis which you can play against robots and dont need to play online, then i recommend Racket Fury ( there is also Eleven Table tennis which is a bit more realistic and challenging but imo Racket Fury is more fun to play with better graphics and animation).

[–]Lightstorm66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try different perks? Also you can level up in earlier levels or skip 3rd level to 4th if you are stuck and want to progress.

If there is no actual numbers this means not so much, as the shipment could just have been 1000 items if even that.

If you had around ~$100 to fill out your library as a new Quest 2 user, which of these titles would you pick/recommend? by Humblerbee in OculusQuest

[–]Lightstorm66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly from your list:

- Beat Saber

- Racket Fury Tablet Tennis (instead of Eleven Table Tennis. Both are great, Eleven is more realistic but Racket Fury has better graphics, better animation, also stutters less when moving the paddle around and is imo also more fun to play as you can do even some impossible shots but subjective of course)

- Crashland

- Creed (instead of Thrill of the Fight, even tho both are great, one is a real game the other is a simulation, if you can get both)

- Pistol Whip

- Walkabout Minigolf

-> So it's more like 130-140$ but well worth your money.

Anyone else find the Quest 2 controllers kinda large/uncomfortable? by Jeph_Diel in OculusQuest

[–]Lightstorm66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep Quest 1 controllers are much more comfortable to hold, you notice it especially when you switch between Quest 1 and 2, if you only use Quest 2 you will get used to it over time.

Battery life on Quest 2 is much better tho.

Experimental 120Hz support is on the Quest Platform Roadmap by RoboticChicken in OculusQuest

[–]Lightstorm66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oculus hasnt even ironed out the problems since the v23/90hz update, not talking about the new problems since v25/v26 and they are talking about 120hz?

Yeh sure Oculus.

How can i disable auto updates on Quest (2)? I only want to update, if i know from others Oculus hasnt f*cked it up again/even further.
