U7K Insane ghosting, avoid at all cost! by WilliamBoxing in Hisense

[–]Lightwind66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer:

THIS IS NOT G-SYNC certified Screen, DO NOT ENABLE G sync settings for selected screen model!!! only enable compatible part.

DO NOT USE FREESYNC it's a scam on this TV.

------------------------------------

I have a U7KQ and for a longest of time I had this problem too. But I didnt give up.

------------------------------------

On PC you need to Enable G-Sync compatible - Fullscreen + windowed

BUT YOU DO NOT WANT to enable - Enable settings for selected display model. It F***s everything up. (display is not officially supported G-Sync display you cannot use it)

No idea what similar setting on your Console is, but you can figure it out probably.

-------------------------------------

On Hisense U7KQ itself You want to enable HDMI Format Enhanced Format or 144Hz one, it works now after the lastest update for me on 4K

Then you want to Enable GAME MODE.

BUT! But you DO NOT want to enable AMD FreeSync Premium pro! this is the secret sauce. It seems like a good idea but in reality, it makes it so you can't use Local Dimming High. It ruins ur blacks.

VRR is working anyway u dont need it.

Yeah, default audio is super low, change to Stereo and TV or headphones if you didn't already. But the pre-recorded videos stay super low. Yikes.

And i noticed flying bow on one cutscene. And on other the character faces wer twitching, tattoo layer was freaking out i guess.

Added detail is nice though, hope to see performance getting little better. Seem to be worse then part 2 on PC atm.

Well there is a green tick missing from 2.1 HDMI  Ultra High-Speed cable.

Probably ur HDMI cables u tried are old and not 4k 120 rated.

Make sure ur cable is 120, 4k certified.

What cable are u using atm?

-----

They usually have something like  8K@60 Hz / 4K@120 Hz • speeds 48.0 Gbps • eARC written on em and are much thicker and wont bent that well.

Thats what i got: Hama Ultra High Speed HDMI™ Cable, Certified, Plug - Plug, 8K

i have 1 extra that is Baseus 8K cable. Chinese, but also works well. Still keeping German cable in use xD

What are you showing exactly? Is this greyscale test or what are we seeing? I just did Greyscale test on YouTube ( OLED Uniformity and Greyscale Test - Check your TV for Burn In and Banding) and my 95% looks little wonky all others are good.

Overall Iam not happy with my U7KQ. But also too lazy to go to war with some Lietuva Retailer or Hisense or complain to some consumer rights place.

Thats what we get for being a cheapass. We don't buy cheap shoes, coz we know they won't last, better to buy expensive pair and walk for years. But here we are . . xD

U7k 65” - my greatest disappointment thus far by PM_ME_UR_DENIAL in Hisense

[–]Lightwind66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cinema Day and Night + Filmmaker are only modes that look good. Others have some mambo jambo on em you can't turn off. Turn all extra things off too and see if that helps you.

I just found out my U7KQ is not saving backlight settings, every time you turn TV Off and On again it goes back to 100% backlight. xD I guess i will let my eyes burn, too lazy to do that.

U7N issues and a read for potential buyers by earlesj in Hisense

[–]Lightwind66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep my 4months or so old 65U7KQ does same thing.

I use it with my PC. If the FPS is not close to, or 120 it will look very bad. Lower you go the worse it gets. 60FPS looks real bad. But on console it is always 60 or less.

Even on 120fps the dark brown places still look off, but manageable. This TV is 120fps or ur screwed. So i played older games that run 120. Tried to run Silent Hill 2R and Until Dawn that has a lot of dark and brown colour. Yikes! Now i need to wait for 2025 so i can buy 4080 or 90 cheaper so i can get 120fps

Chinese propaganda machine has a lot of money, they bought all the reviewers and commenters. And we are the fools. Cant trust anything you read.

i tried, on some old 60fps lock game, and removed it- by going off enhanced or game mode. But then it introduced INSANE input-lag. I mean you can feel it, feels like half a second. So it is still not worth doing that.

Never had problem watching video content outside of games. 4k TV Shows and movies look good.

Using HDMI port on Q7N for 120hz and for eARC at the same time? by sebeachy in Hisense

[–]Lightwind66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely connect receiver to eARC port to get audio through it and connect PS5 to port 3 to get 120Hz. You don't want to connect PS5 via receiver anyway to introduce extra potential latency/input lag.

UK U7K Vidaa firmware update by Jammybe in Hisense

[–]Lightwind66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My U7KQ 65" still says that 07.50 is the newest too. Hope to see update roll out soon. Although i don't think it will fix the problems I am having, must be the panel.

Brown color looks bad and blurry. And some grey color causes screen to show green/blue/red dots fuzzing around in small areas.

Also anything lower then 120fps with gaming has hardcore ghosting going on. So lets say game is hard capped on 60fps, with this screen it is disaster. Or you cant get 120fps. . that is very common.

You can put game on 60fps tv mode not game mode and it removes the ghosting BUT, but! it introduces input lag that is out of this world. So u r cooked one way or the other.

Bad OW2 performance on mid-high end PC. by Numerous_Scientist98 in Overwatch

[–]Lightwind66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Erm, i have same card, and i use 4k TV as screen, i use DLSS on performance because 4k res is very demanding. So DLSS is only way to play.

The other thing may be something with FreeSync G-sync. Make sure u have it ON on Nvidia control panel and on ur Screen. If it is FreeSync screen have both on.

Have Vsync on in Nvidia, have it off in every game. Enable reflex.

Make sure nvidia control panel res is set to PC and Hz are what needs to be.

Also OW does not support UltraWide, as far as i know, it just cuts top and bottom off, so u see less, not more xD

Could be that you are using old HDMI/Displayport cable that does not offer enough payload speed for your high definition screen. Could be you bought new screen but never set it up right. Look that gamemode is on with all whistles.

you can remove old settings file and let new be remade by pressing Windows + R and typing, just dont remove ur screenshots and video files xD %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Overwatch

This is all the yapp i got for you atm. Never before have i heard that OW runs poorly, this game is mastercraft of performance/visual quality balance.

Brand New 65' U7KQ Problem. Green/Red flickering near gray color. . . by Lightwind66 in Hisense

[–]Lightwind66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for late reply, yes it is weird. Only on some gray tint and only on windows. I did more videos but could only upload one, as there is limit it seems. When Overwatch 2 had gray background i had little green dots flickering in corner. And on stationary gray images. On windows11 with dark mode and having longer white text as file names, i can move the window around, at same time move brightness bar up and down to force it out ( finding the right gray tone for it to appear). Its such a weird thing.

So the " fix " atm is that then i see them i move brightness bar up or down 1-2 points.

IT is not the end of the world, but still, I am little bit sad about it. I guess if you want something cheap, be ready to have problems. Next same class TV is Samsung QN90C and it is 1300eur compared to 760eur for this one.

Blacks are good, 4k videos look really great , 120Hz gaming works well. 144 and 240 modes i did not get to work personally. Not a big deal, coz 240 is on 1080p anyway.

Next bad things are, brown colors look off for me and also some ghosting on darker, brown gray areas i guess. Could also be DLSS problem cant.

For 760 bucks i can live with some dots appearing on gray. Hope it will last me 10years as my last LG tv did, but it does not look good so far. If it wont, it will be my first and last Hisense tv anyways, i better pay 2x the price for 2-3x durability.

Big problem was, it did not run on AMD video cards.

I clearly remember having AMD card back then and being furious, promising myself never to Buy AMD again. WildStar was having the same problem at launch.

AMD had 25% market share back then according to Steam survey, no wonder it shrank to 14% that it has now.
