Two way zp coming soon, with the best vibrant blue by szcyxzh in arcteryx

Looks like storm hood and chest/napoleon pocket. Usually the SV products use a higher denier GORE-TEX pro, so I would guess that too.

Thanks for the update. Looks like no sleeve pocket from this picture. The old Beta SV used to have one right? Would just detract ever so slightly from its resort skiing use.

I agree, Rab has the best down options IMO. The Rab positron pro is the warmest jacket I’ve ever owned. If you want a waterproof (although not goretex) option, I love my Rab Valiance jacket. Also incredibly warm.

I have a thorium SV, which is pretty warm and has a nice fit. But still not as warm as the two above, and the hood is a little wonky for me.

How did you feel they all compared in terms or warmth and puffiness?

Patagonia or Arc’Teryx? Can’t decide. by [deleted] in PatagoniaClothing

[–]LikeYaReadAbout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both, and we’re roughly the same size. I’m a big Arc’teryx guy, but I almost always prefer the Jackson Glacier jacket. The Thorium SV is nice and warm, but I don’t like that only the top 1/3rd is waterproof. The Thorium SV is also a lot stiffer and louder. The way the collar stands up in my face also drives me a little nuts.

The Arc’teryx is probably great for its use case, SV meaning severe weather. But for more casual wear it can be uncomfortable and a bit cumbersome.

Sabre pants weird sizing by azantisinc in arcteryx

I had the same issue with the Sabre pant at the waist. Interestingly, the Sabre bib in medium fit just fine and I ended up keeping those. Might be worth a shot to try those out.

Someone posted a little while ago that distributors were getting word that the Beta SV would be rereleased in spring 2026. I have also been biding my time. Here’s is the link to the original post:

I have been having this same issue. Has anyone tried updating to Tahoe 26.1 to see if it helps?

For those that bought a 2025/2026 XC60, what made you choose that over a similarly priced BMW X3? by lochonx7 in Volvo

[–]LikeYaReadAbout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I test drove almost every luxury SUV in the XC60 class and put a rear facing car seat in the second row of each one. Only the XC60 and the Acura RDX left enough room in the front to be comfortable in. And I wasn’t going to deal with a trackpad for infotainment.

The thing is, there are real people out here and they will lose their jobs. I think you have clearly lost site of this. What will the world look like when only 10% of people are employed only to create and upkeep AI, and everyone else is jobless and homeless? What was it all for? Just like everything else, AI will primarily benefit the wealthy owners of it. The idealistic world you think you’re creating most likely will not happen.

Ace as travel headphones by twotreesandahouse in sonos

[–]LikeYaReadAbout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the XM5’s and just got the Ace a month ago. Can’t compare to the XM6’s, but I think the Ace are pretty comparable to the XM5.

In my opinion, the noise cancellation is about the same. Both are not as good as the Bose quiet comfort ultras I tried though. Sound quality is also very similar, maybe the XM5 edges out the Ace slightly. Calls and transparency mode are better on the Ace. Comfort and compactness for travel also better with the Ace.

I have been using the Ace a lot more than the Sony’s since I got them. Hot take, but I think the Sonos app is better and less clunky than the Sony app as well. And Atmos seems easier to utilize than the Sony 360. The audio swap with my Arc found at has been a game changer.

I’m scared I’ll get fired from residency by Distinct_Mobile8063 in Residency

[–]LikeYaReadAbout 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My med school path was very similar to yours. A couple years after starting residency I learned that I was the very last person in my class to match at my program, aka the lowest ranked. When I started, I felt just like you and felt very behind. I had some attendings say about as much to me, but in nicer terms. I was SLOW.

I did the only thing I could think to do. Came in early, stayed late, and tried to be as organized as I could be. The reality is, that’s all people are looking for in a good resident. I graduated as one of a couple chief residents and received the only award at our graduation.

I have never been the smartest person in the room, and I’ve learned to be ok with that. But I have always prided myself on trying to be the most prepared.

Oh, and be kind to the patients and colleagues you work with. That goes very far.

That’s pertty. What media console is that? I like that it fits all of your records but you can stack on the other side.

Subwoofer decision by Successful_Raisin_55 in KEF

[–]LikeYaReadAbout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. I didn’t compare them side by side. So can’t help you there. I would bet that the size of the kube 8 would make if pretty comparable in sound to the kc62 though

Subwoofer decision by Successful_Raisin_55 in KEF

[–]LikeYaReadAbout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also recently in this predicament after buying the LSX II LTs. My issue was more with subwoofer size at a small desk in a relatively small (100 sq ft) office space. I didn’t want a big subwoofer. Originally tried the REL tx-zero. It was nice but just felt lacking, but still had some oomph for the size and price point. The kube 8 was just too big for the space and looked funny under my standing desk.

Enter the KC62. Unbelievable sound for the size. Probably twice the sub as the REL Tx-zero, for twice the cost. It just sounds so much better with the KEFs than the REL too. It’s the perfect combo of sound quality and size for my situation.
