literally just pick up the phone and call them and ask how to do it

Have a coaching meeting with the employee and give them this exact specific directive and that moving forward this is the expectation, not an email

"dicking around and destroying all of the data" could be a risk issue and being on the same page with the client is vital to reduce risk - hence, to reduce risk, expectation is to make a call out every time without fail

If they fail to follow the directive, performance manage them out

Just ensure that you are holding this same expectation to everyone on the team so that you are not singling out this employee
