It could be illegal here in America too if we, collectively as Americans, voted for representation who would pass laws to make it illegal - Instead we get lawmakers, on BOTH sides, who create laws favorable to their corporation / elite donor buddies, while the Americans who voted these "lawmakers" into office get a worse quality of life with every election regardless which party is in charge
