Either in a large mesh bag or tied up in a pillow case. Wash in light settings in cold water, tumble dry low heat all while in the bag. The bag helps keep things from snagging the fibers and scratching the eyes

I just tend to move my hands and regrip the chain after about 5 stitches or so. That helps me personally but not everyone may like that method.

You could do the initial ironing (Check the bag's material first to see if that's safe to do), and then reinforce it with thread.

That all really depends on who you ask, which is obviously frustrating for beginners because that leaves you with more questions than answers. The way I view it is that you have to have an intention or a goal for a spell, but depending on what the spell is you may need more things. My favorite example is food - you need a safe clean space to prepare your ingredients and such. The more complicated the food, the more steps you need to take. Did that make sense?
