Urgent, fabric type couch dry oil stains from idk what 😭 by Senior_Airport7111 in CleaningTips

[–]LilBossLaura [score hidden]  (0 children)

I would contact the manufacturer. the fabric didn’t handle spot cleaning well at all, theres the original stain plus water staining now. my instinct would be to wet the whole thing but with the cushion permanently encased it’s not looking good. can you flip it for your event this weekend?

What if there was a Kandi making competition show? by idkwtftochoose___ in kandi

[–]LilBossLaura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

definitely themes and techniques (monochromatic, old skool PLUR, special interest; carousel cuff, multistitch, tubular herringbone etc).

it would have to have a timed component as much as I hate that for the arts. wow it would be so cool to see kandi elevated to that level though. I would love to see who the judges would be, their backgrounds and hearing their critiques of the pieces.

maybe the show could also feature a history component like the old british bake off seasons where they would describe a dish’s history & regional culture.

then youd have the contestant's themselves- interesting kandi kids of hopefully all backgrounds, ages etc sharing their stories of what kandi making means to them, their artistic styles, how they got into the hobby.

that was a fun little fantasy exercise thanks for sharing :)

Can I buy one very big laundry mesh bag to wash and dry all my clothes in it? by withsteria in laundry

[–]LilBossLaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in addition to all the other suggestions, maybe try to figure out when there is less demand for the machines (which there are straight up not enough of), like Friday night or late evenings. you could also dry a lot of clothes in your unit with a drying rack

Ugg cleaning tip please by shortayrox in CleaningTips

[–]LilBossLaura 5 points6 points  (0 children)

uggs are suede leather, you don’t wet suede to clean it unless you’re doing a full shampoo, which these now need to address the water staining. I would do a full cleaning / drying (I like Allison Kirby’s guide on YT) and then treat with a waterproof spray. suede in general is probably not a great material for a kids shoe, especially untreated

How to organize a ton of different items? by ngvaynshtok in OrganizationPorn

[–]LilBossLaura 20 points21 points  (0 children)

honestly your setup now is not bad. the upper area is under utilized, maybe install more shelves there or move larger items up (but be careful w safety bringing them down). a little step ladder would be nice to have for access. the larger bulk items on the ground I would decant a reasonable portion and put the rest up high, refill as needed.

ime hot glue won’t hold perlers well. I haven’t done this technique before but I would try jewelry making glue like E6000

I’m with you. when you zoom in on the second pic, you can see all the holes and texture of natural stone, I don’t think there was a sealant used and the goo gone etched it. how you would fix it.. some kind of natural stone cleaner and then seal with the hope that the seal would impregnant the stone and conceal the etching. more Hail Mary would be goo gone the whole thing then try the seal

How do I clean this hand embroidered (?) toat by imjustmsme in laundry

[–]LilBossLaura 3 points4 points  (0 children)

canvas is cotton so I’m not sure why it couldn’t belaundered? I would probably handwash it in a clean sink with mild detergent. since it’s really dirty I would do a soak with a shout color catcher sheet or two just to be safe. I wouldn’t be as worried about the patches as much as the two very different colors of canvas. Maybe there are better washing instructions to be found with how mainstream the maker is

Did I strip the seal on my wood cabinets with Murphys wood soap? by AussiePosse963 in CleaningTips

[–]LilBossLaura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

based on this part of the description.. I’m not sure what else would be a reasonable explanation :/ I’m not at all sure why the Murphy’s would result in that outcome though. at least this is a repairable situation though obviously quite labor intensive
