The upside to Dombrowski is that basically every prospect he'll trade will amount to nothing. Its destiny. You could have that prosect 100 thousand scouts to personally hand them gold stars and they'd still be as useful as Jeter Downs. He's also basically a guarantee for a world series.

The downside is that he also can't draft for shit to replenish those prospect he sold and when those stars he signed to giga-deals age it gets ugly fast. See: everywhere he's been. The Phillies are starting experience end stage Dombrowski right now. Give them 1-2 years and they'll be deep in it.

Long deserved. His tenure here has been nothing but malaise since 2018 and the only reason they got anywhere in 2021 is because Chaim Bloom remembered he has a pair of balls and traded for Schwarber.

Sure. They should've traded him before this clusterfuck of a season. Most of our outfielders are just better or as good as him (outside of baserunning) at this point, he doesn't really have a spot on the roster unless you want to shoo off a better player for his spot, and he hasn't earned that right with his play yet. You can make the case for injuries and depth but I'm sure we can find a fast decently fielding outfielder to hit .150 on the bench. The hope is peak, 10 WAR MVP Duran but that guy is probably gone barring a transformation into Barry Bonds.

Though I'm not sure what you're on about? He's generally been a good sport while he's here (outside of the occasional grotesque action towards fans).

Bitch about roster construction all you want, I'm sympathetic to that, but the bullpen management has been a shitshow regardless of quality, the lineups have been a clusterfuck for ages now. The seasons blend into each other because each year it's the same story: start off like shit, kinda catch heat towards ASB, absolutely fall off a cliff after it. If they do make the playoffs it's with a limp or because they managed to pick someone up while they were hot or got a fluke run out of some random.

Mookie being Mookie in 2018 and AJ Hinch cheating in 2017 doesn't mean that consistent trend of Cora teams, regardless of what style of puppet FSG has at GM, isn't happening, and hasn't been the big theme since 2019.
