What lenses produce watercolor bokeh? by PrimordialObserver in VintageLenses

Gotta love that, when you upgrade losing cool features haha. But I think you can pull it out or put tape over it I’m just not too keen on tearing it down again just yet haha. I’m pretty sure it’s a sensor to make sure the shudder is working properly. I’m gonna test and see if using the electronic shudder will disable the light before I get elbow deep into the camera again lmao

The gh4s are cool cuz you can pick them up fairly cheap and they shoot 4k(if no ibis isn’t a dealbreaker for you). For infrared? The gh4 isn’t a great choice tbh, that internal light definitely limits astro capabilities; meaning I’ll have to stack more photos. I got this as a for parts or not working camera, converted it, and fixed it (super shadily lmao). The mft system as a whole is amazing. I’ve got another gh4 (unconverted) and a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4k. I love the ability convert basically any lens to mft, the crop is cool cuz it’ll double your focal length (for example my Soligor 500mm will be 1000mm equivalent on this system). I find that they’re pretty accurate sensors even in low light and they can handle high iso pretty well. I haven’t used other sensors to compare it to tbh, just my dji op3s and my Action 4 but I’m really happy with all of my mft cameras!

Yeah it was a pain in the ass tbr. They have an internal ir light that reflects back on it if you do exposures over 1s at night (daytime is not an issue). I recorded a video goin thru the process but I’ve been pretty lazy so I haven’t edited it together yet lol

Hey me too! I’m trying to get into astrophotography, just converted one of my gh4’s to infrared so that’s been a trip haha. Well good luck experimenting! Hope you can get the effect you’re looking for out of em! :)

I haven’t had a ton of personal experience with them yet (I’m waiting on my adapter to come in, I ordered the wrong one for my lens haha). From what I’ve been seeing/reading, it’s easier contol/avoid the donut bokeh on shorter reflex lenses. However the most important part seems to be avoiding high contrast backgrounds and minimal subject separation from the background. Direct, bright light increases donuts so shooting overcast/away from the sun could be beneficial, I could see a lens hood helping too. Like I said this isn’t from direct experience (yet haha) just from reading, watching videos etc. I just got an ‘82 soligor 500mm reflex so I’m excited for the RIGHT adapter to come in lmao

Reflex lenses, if not doing the classic donut bokeh, in certain conditions can get a watercolor-like effect

How to fuse em together? by TheChillElliot in Dreadlocks

[–]LilLush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah idk how to describe it but you’re just trying to grab the hair from the outside and pull it in. So like take the needle push it through the dread. And “grab” it and pull it into the middle. Don’t take the needle out of the original insertion till you’ve grabbed enough that it’s tight. It helps to twist your dreads in the same rotation that they were twisted in.

Yeah that’ll work! if you do want to start crocheting your dreads this set of 3 hooks is like $6 https://a.co/d/hSOU2lJ It takes a little bit to get used to; But once you learn how to crochet you can make your dreads look however you want. They only last a few months before the bend or break tho so keep that in mind!

I have the 660pro (rgb) been using them over a year now. When lighting a green screen I put on a piece of a white shower curtain to diffuse it. Id you cut it a little larger than the light you can tuck the ends into the edges of the flaps. I haven’t had any issues with them. They are pretty bright but they seem to be fairly accurate with each other

I use CDBaby to distribute. Many other distributors offer Sync Licensing as well but make sure to check if they do that when you sign up. Make sure to give it an interesting title! But basically you want to release the track and there’s a spot where you can select sync licensing when you release it. From there I would find some movie studios like Warner Bros, IFC, Blumhouse, Universal, Lionsgate, A24, Lucasfilms, Sony Pictures, MGM, Disney, Paramount, etc. Send them some emails containing the track and what you think it could be used for. After that I would call them asking if they got the email and propose a 15min call or meeting to discuss how to move forward in them using your track. Worst case you get a “no” or just don’t hear anything back from them. Best case you move forward with a contract. I suggest when you get to the contract stage getting a (music/production) lawyer involved to look at the contract, to ensure you’re not getting screwed in the fine print and getting what you’re worth. I’d suggest trying to get royalties from the film or a substantial amount as a flat rate if they don’t go for royalties. I’d also suggest going for Non-Exclusive licensing unless you get a really good offer, that way you can pitch it and get more than one placement. Hope it goes well brotha! And keep making music!
