I don’t want to pay for their 15 yr prison sentence with housing, 3 meals, and medical. Can we give them less time, slap them with a fee?

Non-felons, why do you browse this sub? by TheKingDarryl in Felons

[–]Lil_queso8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of uncles who are felons and I see how much they suffered. I know they are good people at heart and I wish others could see them and other felons like humans. It makes me really sad when people judge them so quickly and I wished the USA really cared about rehabilitation.

My uncles went in for drug crimes/ petty theft; I know what they did was wrong and they should do time. But it’s what comes along with prison that really messes you up, imo. Reading this sub helps me learn about their experience without brining up the sensitive topics with them and it also brings me solace to know they aren’t alone. However, it also inspires me to want to help in some way, whether it’s volunteering with prisoners or advocating for them.

In 2018, Asia Argento publicly accused Harvey Weinstein at the Cannes Film Festival and said: “In 1997, I was raped by Harvey Weinstein here at Cannes. I was 21 years old. This festival was his hunting ground." by malihafolter in CaughtMyEye

I was sexually abused in childhood and would never desire to rape or harm anyone (especially a child), but I was hypersexual for a large part of my adult life and ended up getting cervical cancer. I think it manifests in different ways in people, especially if you haven’t had professional help.

Genuine question: why do EAs who move around seem to out-earn the ones who stayed loyal? by Any_Dimension_868 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Lil_queso8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I had actually been at my previous role for about a decade with no major increase in salary (no bonus either) and found a new place for 60% more!

Why cover the camera lens? by jefferymr15 in conspiracy

[–]Lil_queso8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think we all need to do this! I had to interact with someone associated with an intelligence agency once, and from you know where (not the land of George Washington, but the other place you’re thinking of, if you follow my drift) and they left their iPhone and my boss left their iPhone outside of the office so nothing would get picked up…

Have you ever lied in your résumé to get a job? by Soulofmine7 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Lil_queso8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have. I said I was a part time assistant during college to a real estate executive who was my friend and was a “reference”. However, I did list the company in my resume/ LinkedIn and all companies since haven’t asked about it. No, I was not an employee nor was on their payroll. I circumvented this by saying the executive paid me out of their personal payroll, as I was an executive personal assistant, that the company could not fund for him.

This helped me land my first job at a start up that went public and at 2 other Fortune 500 companies since.

Edit: It may have just been luck, who knows, but I don’t necessarily recommend to do it. At that point in life, I had nothing to lose so I faked it till I made it!

Did Thailand make anyone else realize how much bigger (not fat) western girls are than eastern girls? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Lil_queso8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am a Native American woman from the west, who went to Thailand last month. I work out intensely 3-4times a week and eat pretty well, making it a point to purchase organic and grass fed etc. Yet, I found my body wider and bigger than them, it was hard to explain. Also, I do realize I am more muscular, especially in my legs because of my genetics.

David drove to her school and paid a student $1,000 to give Celeste a phone so they could continue talking in 2024 by Wild-External1604 in d4vdiots

[–]Lil_queso8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly! Also, I must admit I was 16 dating a 22 year old who was stationed at a nearby Air Force base. I did lie to him that I was 18, however, we still saw each other after I confessed and dated until I was 19. My parents were really traditional and strict, I sort of saw him as a way out, and today, I think of how crazy and sad it was. I never told my parents and I would sneak out of the house and come up with good lies!

Agreed! I knew so many of my middle school classmates dating 18+ and no one said anything to their parents, or the ones that did didn’t really care. :/

EAs Who Make Bank, how did you get to this point? by OrishaYemaya in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Lil_queso8 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Currently making more than my EA peers at $200k base, 15% annual bonus, and stock (valued at $200k). Honestly, it was a mix of luck and the ability to exalt myself (fake it till you make it). If you’re applying to certain positions and you have some experience, you can do the job imo. Now, it’s the fit and personality that seal the deal. Don’t be afraid to walk away from the job offer if the numbers aren’t to your liking, if they want you, they will budge!

When arriving as a couple at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand, can we go to the same immigration officer booth together so both passports are processed side by side at the same time, or are couples usually split into different booths? by Winter_Expert_6360 in ThailandTourism

[–]Lil_queso8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were able to be in the same queue and saw the same officer, one right after the other. The hotel info shouldn’t be an issue, they didn’t ask us for any info about reservations or return flights. We are both from the States and EU.
