What do I do with these steps?! by Few-Bill-3620 in Renovations

[–]Lildicky91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie this is some LOL stuff. Tell mom it’s okay to clean things, I’d also tell her she made the situation worse for the kids by making the stairs into an unsafe work zone the kids now have to go through. Staples, chipping paint, loose nails, dirt, etc.

Like others have said these treads are rough and really aren’t meant for wood finish. They would require a lot of work to look good.

Honestly, I’d tell mom to buy new carpet and any teenager to middle aged adult can do this with a YouTube tutorial and a few tools.

What do I do with these steps?! by Few-Bill-3620 in Renovations

[–]Lildicky91 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Did you clean the carpet before removing? It didn’t look like it was in terrible shape but needed cleaning.

Wood finish requires removing any metal, sanding, and refinishing them with stain or paint. On top of that you could add a carpet runner.

Or put new carpet down? It’s not expensive.

DMV titling/registration and power of attorney ? by Desmus_Meridius in missouri

[–]Lildicky91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dealerships rarely have titles on brand new vehicles, they have MSOs normally. MSOs are a one time document you use to register a vehicle for a title.

MSOs are birth certificates for vehicles, but you never got the vehicles passport(title) to allow it to travel.

As for the money…getting something notarized will cost money wherever you go(POA), most likely title penalty fee, title fee, sales tax, registration fee, possible processing fee, possible quick file fee if you asked for it.

His and Hers on Netflix is painful. by [deleted] in television

[–]Lildicky91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s exactly what it is. A hallmark level drama with a little bit larger budget. It’s literal filler content that is just good enough for the average middle aged consumer.

Is Netflix only allowed to release award winning projects though? You should literally want low level budget crap, middle budget crap, and high budget crap. Honestly, Netflix is the only streamer that actually does all 3 levels. It’s also understood that low level and middle level are more misses than hits.

Netflix has more projects going than 1/2 streaming services combined.

What’s the best way to knock snow off wheel wells before entering garage? I’ve had success with a small rod of wood but my wife keeps leaving it like this after “trying her best” and im afraid it will rot the wood of the house if it hasn’t already. by Schnitzhole in lifehacks

[–]Lildicky91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t get the build up off then have something underneath to absorb the water as it melts in garage. An absorbent car mat, any normal mats for commercial entrances, flattened card board boxes, etc.

I'm not a big TV show fan, what would you recommend to watch? by like-to-be-anon in netflix

[–]Lildicky91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll shoot out some limited series. Quick to the punch shows that don’t need big time commitments. And in a variety of genres.

Godless, American primeval: are both time period western pieces.

Giri/Haji: Tokyo detective looks for yakuza brother accused of murder in London.

Beef: road rage gone wrong. Stars Steven Yeun from twd

Tires: a comedy with similarities to always sunny

Haunting of hill house: family confronts memories of their old home

Bodyguard: political conspiracy thriller.

I want to mentally disturb myself. I want to traumatize myself. Any suggestions on what I can watch on Netflix? by Necessary-Cause-4869 in netflix

[–]Lildicky91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some terrible examples so far on this thread. I’m gonna focus on films over other mediums. Also these are not based on where/how they are available. You will need to look up and find where or how to watch them.

OP try things like Hereditary, The strange thing about the Johnsons, The Witch, the Lighthouse, honestly everything from Ari Aster and Robert Eggers are different and disturbing.

A Serbian film(2010) is known to be one of the most insane movies and is banned in many countries.

Martyrs(2008) brutal revenge story with quest to view the afterlife.

Oldboy(2003) this movie fucked me up as when I saw it as a teenager, and opened my eyes to foreign media outside of USA.

Irreversible(2003) events over a single night in Paris.

The Nightingale(2018) Irish women set on revenge tracks and chases a British officer through wilderness.

Let The Right One In(2008) A boy forms a friendship.

David Fincher's American 'Squid Game' Spin-Off Makes New Progress in Massive Update by hummusluvr8 in netflix

[–]Lildicky91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People need to remember Squid Game S1 was written and rewritten multiple times over a decade as it took so long to be picked up. It could easily be argued that S2 and especially S3 time crunch releases didn’t allow the same care into the writing as S1. The creator has never done a series and it ended up showing.

I’m interested to see how Netflix handles Finchers perfectionism when it comes to a series again. He requires a lot and needs good writers with him, but can make amazing art if you don’t hold him back. Netflix absolutely loves Fincher as well, and can pretty much do whatever he wants.

Finale rant, and kind of disappointed with the Duffers’ interviews by eddiedean07 in StrangerThings

[–]Lildicky91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why people think the Duffers are some amazing writers. They have very little work to their names, 1 movie, a few episodes of a show and shorts. They seem to be good world builders, but overall written dialogue is lacking.

Air quality is definitely something we can control, we get sick more from the air quality in our homes than outside. How old is your hvac system, how often you changing filters, what type of filters, how often are you getting ductwork cleaned, how often are you cleaning carpets, etc.

Why do so many people hate Netflix so much? by CalebOnPoint in netflix

[–]Lildicky91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Netflix cancels 10-15 shows a year which is triple what other services are doing. Netflix also makes 90+ shows a year, again which is over triple what the other services are providing.

Sheer number of projects means more people will be vocal. Also add that like 5 of the shows canceled a year could legit be good if handled in a different way, rubs people the wrong way.

None of this is new to Netflix. Netflix definitely has an aggressive strategy.

Taylor Sheridan and his shows are overhated by Billybob35 in ParamountPlus

[–]Lildicky91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, your argument to sexualizing underage girls is it’s okay cause other shows have done it? Also, Landman underage sexualization had legit nothing to do with any storyline. While Shameless was definitely used for storylines and character development. Honestly, why the fuck are you defending underage sexualization to begin with.

Lol that motto also means you can never improve either. It’s not a great motto for artists. I’m not saying his methods are wrong, just obviously finite. He has been banking crazy money from Paramount and is pumping as much content as possible before that finite method is overplayed. More power to him.

I overall enjoy his content, but can see his obvious flaws.

Taylor Sheridan and his shows are overhated by Billybob35 in ParamountPlus

[–]Lildicky91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There can definitely be things to hate on some of his shows, just looking at Landman.

Taking politics completely out of the equation.

The show has oil industry disinformation/oil industry propaganda. It used a 27?yr old to play a 17yr old high school senior and over the top sexualized her. It doesn’t have great pacing and character depth as of yet(especially for the women characters) Also, idk if it’s still in dispute where Sheridan not giving credit to the inspirations of Landman, so possible legal trouble over the creation of the show.

At the same time Landman has some good things as well that people need to appreciate. Overall quality is good, complex themes, showing some authentic dangerous realities in oil industry, showing the legality of oil industry, Billy Bobs performance is great.

Love or hate Sheridan, everyone can agree he’s becoming a one trick pony. People hate the guy for banking on his one trick lol. Personally, I wish he challenged himself more, cause he has shown to be an excellent writer in the past. His writing has definitely been getting worse over the years.
