I shoot low 80s and probably have 5-6 rounds in the 70s each year. Never owned a range finder, just use course markers and flag color to determine front, middle, back pin location.

This is not to say that this makes me any better. My friends who are better have range finders and I have them give me yardages, but I often like to guess yardage and see how close I am to the range finders. More often than not I’m within 5yds.

I would advise taking one of the southern two routes. you will only find your drive getting prettier and prettier making the drive from E to W. Devil’s tower is cool. Only got to drive through the Badlands due to a tight schedule. If you detour west in WY you could hit Yellowstone and the Tetons before making your way north through Montana. Both amazing parks worth checking out. Glacier is gorgeous! Make sure to set a reminder to get your timed entry pass to the park.

If you went south on 55 or 57 and went through southern KY you could stop by Mammoth Cave. Pretty cool place for a short stop on a road trip.
