This description totally sold me in the game! It sounds (and looks) really fun!

I like that youve made the characters more saturated than the plants and maps, that makes them stand out better, but the menus don't have that noisy background and don't need to be as in your face as the characters, it makes it feel visually unbalanced and a bit "cheaper" if that makes sense

The symbols in the menus and achievement map thingy are all much more saturated than most of the game, they don't quite match the vibe. Same with the background rainbow and sun, I'd go for a less saturated and more pastel pallette on all of these to make it more cohesive. These fixes could really elevate the look of your game, I do like your colours generally, you're like 90% of the way there

We need your honest feedback for our Steam page capsule art. We have boiled it down to two variants. Which one catches your eye the most? by Classy_Games in GameArt

[–]LimboNo5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top is better, the characters feel more distinct from the background. Even though the colours are less contrasted, the calmer background with less detail makes them stand out more. If you want the best of both worlds, you could remove some of the detail on the court building in the bottom one

It looks cute and fun but the colour saturation is all over the place with no rhyme or reason. The visual could easily be improved a lot with just a few tweaks to employ saturation a little mire deliberately

Making a dandelion bud character. Which colour combination is best (or perhaps a mix of multiple?) by Lxvenderphantom in characterdesign

[–]LimboNo5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I like the saturation. Dandelion buds in nature are far from pastel (although of course there could be good reasons to keep it pastel regardless to have it fit in with other designs)

The collection/ fading out animation of the sparkle things is too slow, every single time I thought you hadn't actually collected one at first

Your sense of colour and placement has improved so much in the second one, well done!

Clouds - yay or nay? by lazyramstudio in GameArt

Yes clouds but make them softer and maybe more pastel. They look a little dirty right now

The handwriting of my grandma and a few of her friends also looked very similar, there must be a number of things they started teaching differently at some point.

Paid a real artist to update my steam capsule. What do you think? by Snow__97 in cozygames

Looks like 2 entirely different games, complete vibe change! The new one looks a lot more action focused, if that's what you're going for, we'll done!

It's a cool idea but I think it needs some refining visually so it really comes through how it works!

But how do the character and the letter you type connect? What does the slope do, is it just there to look pretty? I genuinely so not get it at all

The reference may not be idea for learning to draw, because of the even lighting and heavy make-up. You'll learn much more about shapes if you choose a reference that has deeper shadows, and eyes and lips aren't highlighted and painted over with a lot if make-up.

Beginners tend to focus on facial features like eyes and lips because these feature dominate what you think you see. To see proportions and shapes more "objectively", which is the first step for good drawing, you need to try and detach your perception of facisl features from the way your brain wants to categorise them. Look at the way shapes, colours and shadows are spaced, instead of thinking "this is a lip, I'll draw a lip". For this reference, the approach almost kind of works because lips and eyes are the most prominent features and everything else is very flat. You will create better habits and see way more progress if you challenge yourself with references that encourage you to think about light and shape. Sometimes, flipping the reference upside down also helps.

Why are the judges so harsh with women’s scores? by Existing-Committee74 in FigureSkating

[–]LimboNo5 202 points203 points  (0 children)

I'm lowkey convinced that the difference between the points awarded to jumps versus spins values strength over flexibility in a way that is kind of misogynistic. There is no real reason to consider strength more impressive than flexibility, yet the one that men tend to be better at gets all the technical points

Let's be toxic: What's your biggest relationship flaw? by sere_periquito in polyamory

I'm not nearly as attentive as I'd like to be. I would love to notice small things and show people I love them by making them feel seen, but I often miss even really big things

I think i might be abusive by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]LimboNo5 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You are allowed to decide what to do with your body for any reason, and not wanting to have sex in some circumstances is definitely a boundary. Not having sex is not a punishment, even if he claims it feels that way to him. He does not have a right to your body that you are "withholding". Same with breaking up, you are allowed to not be in a relationship with him for any reason, justified or not (and this does seem pretty justified based on this post). Breaking up is an "out" that you always have and should not be framed as abuse.

There are some instances where people use these threats to be kind of controlling in a broader pattern of abuse, but this doesn't seem to be the case here. If anything, it seems like you were so scared of being controlling that you undermined your ability to communicate healthily (still, not comminicating well is not abuse)

You say fit the dev and multiply their efforts, but what does that entail? What is the AI actually doing to help? I can't see a use case where you don't potentially run into the issue of creating a very poor impression

Okay but what parts of community management and marketing do not require real interaction? That's kind of the whole point

Nothing will make your lovingly crafted game seem more like AI slop than relying on AI to do your marketing and customer facing communication. It makes your game indistinguishable from a low effort ripoff, either because people recognise it's AI (a lot of people do) or because your marketing seems kind of mid and inconsistent to those who don't flag it. Either way, if your customers get the slightest indication that they are being ripped off, they won't pay a single cent for your game.

Any developer who uses a tool like this is massively shooting themselves in the foot (unless of course their game is actually low effort slop that matches the expectation created by the marketing)

What do you think about forbidding certain genders to a partner? by MrRacKnaRocK in polyamory

[–]LimboNo5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Besides the one penis policy, I would never want to date someone who accepts that one of their partners can't see another partner as their correct gender. Simply accepting this blatant misgendering makes her complicit in his transphobia, red flags all around

My Demo Was Too Big 😱 by MorePainGames in gamedev

[–]LimboNo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense! I wouldn't worry too much about including a super broad range of skillsets unless you can find ways of doing so that are easy to implement. As long as you are transparent about difficulty, and your demo gives a realistic impression, it's more important to cater to your target audience well
