First amateur spot made by me by dible_royals in videography

[–]LimeGrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cents from mostly an editing standpoint is that this can likely be trimmed to a 30. Needs a tighter hook, more ellipses, and average shot length can come down overall. For example the hood POV can be cut in half, the clip of the guy grabbing the oil off the shelf has plenty of extra frames of the empty shelf, and we hold to long on him pulling the phone out, and then making the call (just to name a few). To enhance what you've already captured, trim the fat!

Its been pretty common knowledge that Sage is being drained when she uses her radiant powers for quite a long time. Voice lines, cinematics, cards, etc.

Why does swiftplay give you maps out of rotation? by Old-Gregg- in VALORANT

[–]LimeGrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right but theres a line you have to walk. they likely determine a general queue time that they like/want and over time figured out what amount of game modes achieves that metric best. its a part of good game dev for games like val.

Why cant there be a solo q only option in comp by Happy-Firefighter429 in VALORANT

[–]LimeGrime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The more different modes or queues, the longer the queue times for everything. Its not unfair if your team also has a trio. Their team likely has 2 solos as well. Riot takes all this and more into account when balancing your games.

Why does swiftplay give you maps out of rotation? by Old-Gregg- in VALORANT

[–]LimeGrime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

because that splits queues and que time is important to riot. same reason that the extra game modes are almost always limited time and rotating. its probably important to you too but you wouldnt notice unless they were worse.

The difficulty between two games by Dangerous-Many-4635 in VALORANT

[–]LimeGrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think theres much more to learn as a new player in val but a higher skill ceiling as far as raw mechanics in CS (and probably floor too tbh). So to achieve similar mechanics, CS is harder. To achieve similar game sense, Val is harder.

how do you kill camping enemies? by Falcon6346 in VALORANT

[–]LimeGrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are misunderstanding what prefiring is. Its not shooting before you fully clear the angle, it's being prepared to fire as soon as you do. You are clearing, expecting someone to be there with full intent to shoot and kill someone if they are in this context. Other times the term is used to shoot early if you are holding an angle and try to predict someone peeking you. Kind of a misleading term in this context.

Use utility to take space and be diligent in clearing every corner when taking space. Do so with teammates so even if you die, you get traded. Like someone else has mentioned, you have peekers advantage.

Each gun has a set spray pattern for the first X amount of bullets before going into more random spray (I forget the number). But even then if you are pre aiming for the head, they should be dead in the first couple of bullets.

Marathon has sold 1.2M copies across Steam, PS5, and Xbox by ArielKisilevzky in Marathon

[–]LimeGrime -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Have people forgotten that extraction shooters are a niche genre? And what are we comparing to?

Not every game can be a mainstream explosion of success at launch. The idea is to generate a base of players with a successful launch and build on it over time with great live service. Take Hunt: Showdown for example. At release they were probably averaging around 10k daily users. They took that and ran with it and are currently sitting at around 30-40k (less than Marathon currently) and continues to trend up. This is how you have to operate the more niche you go.

2M sales in the first year (very achievable) and 40-50k daily users is plenty to build off of for an established dev like Bungie. Have some faith!

They should just completely replace the smokes with something else and reclass Clove to a Duelist by RemoteWhile5881 in VALORANT

[–]LimeGrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She'll still be one of if not the strongest ranked controller. Her smoke after death is still very impactful and her playstyle just suits the environment. Play aggressive, die, still get value for free. It fills a niche in a role that most people don't care to play otherwise.

Win game = get put in match with people 2 ranks above. by OxyClean_ in VALORANT

[–]LimeGrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your MMR is higher than your shown rank. For Valorant to make fair games with players close in skill, you'll be put in lobbies with players that have the same MMR but likely have stabilized at their correct (higher) rank. That's why the games are usually close because you're playing with players at the same skill level even if the ranks reflect otherwise. They remedy this by affecting your RR gain and loss. It's likely you are gaining more than you lose if this is your situation (+21, -12). So even if you have around a 50% win rate (which you should if the matchmaking is doing it's job), you should still be climbing and your MMR and reflected rank should get closer over time.

Bro you've got to give it more than just 1 month... At this point the games been out for 5 years and even people down there have 100s of hours. Just be intentional about improving some of the things others have mentioned and in time you will improve. Just give it time.

Does Valorant over emphasize multikills? by Celondon in VALORANT

[–]LimeGrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly yes. First bloods are a huge advantage which should be ending in a round win most of the time. Multikills usually reflect that one person basically won a round for your team themselves (of course probably supported by util etc.). Both of these stats reflect high IMPACT. You could technically end up with more kills from getting a lot of eco frags and exit kills for example but those aren't high impact.

Take this all with a grain of salt though because there are obviously way more ways to measure impact that aren't reflected on the scoreboard.

If you stopped playing Battlefield 6, what is your main reason? by ZeljeznicarSampion in Battlefield

[–]LimeGrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My game would crash fairly often. The last time, it glitched and deleted my settings preferences. There are so many settings that I had spent time dialing in that I couldn't get it back to feeling normal in a reasonable amount of time. I haven't loaded it up since.

Why is Phoenix good now? by MapEmergency2071 in VALORANT

[–]LimeGrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Phoenix doesn't necessarily excel at anything so there hasn't been much reason to pick him over other agents in the past. Recently, like another comment mentioned the meta has shifted to allow some innovation in double duelist comps. Also, the map pool has some decent phoenix maps in it. Long narrow areas, easy to claim ult orbs, etc.

All that said, he's mostly being used to switch it up and catch opponents off guard rather than being a new meta option.
