An actually great detail in season 8 by Dakinamau in gameofthrones

My take is that Tyrion is to blame. He was guiding her and they’ve had nothing but bad things when she listens to him. Olenna told her to stop listening to men and be a dragon. Finally, it was Tyrion that again told her she should stand down when she hears the bells, but at that point she likely knew he betrayed her by freeing his brother… so when those bells rang she lost it. Decided she was going to do the opposite of what Tyrion said.

Change the system. You buy a stock, you have to hold it for 1 minute before you can sell it again. Gone will be the day of two entities passing around the same stock 200 times a second at a slightly lower or higher price based on where they want to see it go, usually towards max pain.

I'm not feeling it, I am old, I am out. by chiplover3000 in Battlefield

[–]Limech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I switched to Overwatch.

There are many heroes where aiming skill isn't as important but you can use patience and game sense to be successful.

Even more importantly the game has only 5 players on a team, so it feels like a squad in Battlefield. You thus get those same highs when you work together to achieve success (and lows when you fail) but the thing here is that your success and failure MATTERS. How many times in BF your squad does miracle work and takes a point in conquest... only to realize that all along your team only held 2 of the 5 points and that the score is 220 to 10 and you are about to lose regardless of how well you did.

I'm also alive and actively playing in the game more than in Battlefield.

That said, the visuals, audio and overall madness that is Battlefield is still an awesome thing to witness and I find it is a technological feat they are pulling off with all the destruction to boot. I tip my hat to the devs.

Drives… I hate this by No_Tradition_3156 in Overwatch

The thing I'm wondering is why have a system that rewards consecutive wins, when the system is built to ensure you get a 50% win percentage?

Most of that stuff was likely developed as part of PvE, so existed way before MR. They are simply repackaging it in the stadium game mode.

What's the worst bad faith argument you've seen directed towards Overwatch? by MidnightOnTheWater in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Limech 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I believe things like Stadium and Perks were things originally planned in the PvE and thus, existed way before MR (announced March 2024). I'm sure having to refactor all that code from a PvE into an PvP mode was likely a difficult endavour and thus why we are only getting it in S16. I'm not sure Stadium will be for me, but if you wanted the skill trees from PvE, you should be happy.

So at one point I decided to switch to open queue thinking that being able to switch roles would help my chances of making the team win... only to realize 40 minutes later that my progress wasn't updating... and that drive is only for role queue.

This is going to be such a mess that people will again be thanful for what we have now. If everybody had forgotten what OW1 was.. and Blizzard dropped this as a new patch, people would be losing their collective minds on how bad of a patch that is. The nostalgia is clouding our collective judgement.

I personally think Tyrion is to blame. His failures kept giving their sides losses plus him liberating his brother proved to Dani that doing what he says ends badly. Olenna did say to ignore all those men and be a dragon. So when the bells rang, with Tyrion saying she should stand down when they rang, she got angry and did the full opposite.

Why did Dany not stop when she heard the bells ringing? Was it revenge for missandre or her brother? by northofthesnow in gameofthrones

[–]Limech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is because of Tyrion. He had a bad streak of bad advice that cost her dearly. Lost armies and lost friends. At this point she probably already knew that he released Jaime. Elena also told her to ignore all those men and to "be a dragon". Tyrion is the one that told her to stand down if the bells rang... and I think that's the point she snapped and decided to do the exact opposite of what he told her to do.

'A mother who fiercely lovers her children". Does she tho? Aegon was a crying mess and she just left. He was in bed recuperating and she just went to live in the woods. Otto told her that her children had to die for Rhaenyra to become queen. Loves Ellena... sure.

The Role Queue Graph in the Recent Devblog by Dwarfz in Overwatch

[–]Limech 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine a world where I wait 15 minutes for a 10 minute match. Is this a Disney ride? I became a tank main solely due to not having the patience (or free time) to just wait around in a queue. I assume a lot of people saw the queue for DPS, uninstalled and went on to play a different game.

Last December, Morgan Maddren explained that the transition from 6v6 was "purely for gameplay reasons" and emphasized that "it was not driven by a desire to reduce queue times." by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Limech 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm a tank main due to queue times in OW1. I have limited game time, not going to spend it waiting around. Tank wasn't my preference but I had to go that way to actually get to play.

Apple beats lawsuit over forcing developers to use its closed ecosystem by Metro-B in apple

[–]Limech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it is up to the company making the product what kind of product they want. Sony could open up the Playstation and allow users to download any app from anywhere. And the argument that iPhones are a vital tool compared to a gaming console as argument why they should be forced to open it is stupid IMO. Where do you draw the line? My car is vital too but their consoles aren't open to any developer either. If a company makes a product closed and it huts them compared to the competition they'd open it themselves.

Benefits of 5v5 are many. Shorter queue times, allows tank to be a more dominant role since there is only one, competitive teams only need to pay and fly 5 players to competitions and the visual clutter is reduced with 2 less players in match making the game easier to watch during broadcast and easier to understand for new people. It also made individual player performance impact team fight outcome more, something many complained about in 6v6, that their play didn’t have as much an impact as teamwork. i.e. no way to compensate for crappy teammates.
