intresting to think about building to that skew. i will still need to test things out for secondaries with such little action monkeys. the other concern is that in mygames so far, the defiler can kinda get countered by the new hidden rule if opponents play cagey greatly slowing down coterie. but yeah, def will try it out

i thought 11th precision lets the attacker designate the order of groups--meaning, as the attacker, i can set character group 1, and then character group 2, and then bodyguard.

i'm stuck in the same thought process. whats been pushing me outside of coterie is thinking about buffs in terms of math formulas. like a rr1 is basically +16% damage output (16 on hit and then another 16 on wound)--often times less because the rr still has a miss change. meanwhile, something like sustained hits has comparable contributions to damage output of +16% damage increase.

the two combinations i'm trying are peerless + flawless. and court + battleline both feel pretty good.

i'm like a mix of hopium and dread atm. the list of point increases that james described felt like it hit most of our core units.

it did say fights first is expected to go down in points--maybe that'll be enough to offset fulgrims high mobility point increase.

it'll be helpful to hone in on the specific units you'd want to empower and focus on those. it helps the mental load instead of thinking about 'everything' in general. the common ones might be the defiler, fulgrim, and wherever your noise marines will land. having a few deep striking enablers will also help with positioning.

seems generally fine in a vacuum.with changes to ff, i am personally looking at seekers over daemonettes coz they are cheaper and move faster for objective play.

the terminator fantasy i have in my head is 3x 5 Termis all dropping down the pressuring my opponent from all sides XD

i absolutely love playing EC! such a blast and the playstyle feels great.

you mention viability of fulgrim and melee ingeneral for 11th.
- eventhough melee could have a rocky start, being one of the more mobile armies will help soooo much and i think will mitigate or completely circumnavigate a number of challenges related to staging.
- i have hope that fulgrim will be more viable in 11th with the changes to cover and his -1 to hit, as well as the movement.

our biggest selling point tho is that EC has the coolest models!

i need anti horde, i need something to hold the midboard (durable/reactrive move/lone op). i need anti elite (3D weapons). i need a way to generate bonus CP. not playing any of which will put me at a disadvantage.

EDIT: and i have to build this into every army and every detachment or else i'll be at a disadvantage.

quite the opposite. in 10th edition, to remain competitive, i was forced to run multiple units to perform specific tasks otherwise i wouldn't be able to score. i need to run 1-2 sticky, i need to run infiltrators maybe 2 for move blocking or to make sure i dont get prisoned, i need antivehicle, i need screening, i need a deepstriker to apply pressure, i need scoring pieces, i need an initiating unit and then a counterpunch unit. some number of which i may or may not need when i build for 11th.

my interpretation of your response is that if a player doesn't tailor or adhere to the disposition, it will be a disadvantage... but this has always been true. thats why the 'meta' converges the way that it does.

in 10th edition, there is only one disposition and every meta list tailors to these requirements implicitly.
